Hi there!

I am scheduled for Revision from lap band to gastric bypass on Dec. 12th. I am sooo nervous! I'm self paying so I'm going to Mexico, alone, for the surgery. Can anyone give me some information on how you are doing after your revision, like the recovery period and how much you have lost.

I'm really nervous because I was a complete failure with the lap band and I don't want another failed surgery. Any support I can get will be so appreciated.

for starters the lap band fails everyone eventually.

RNY is infinitely better! my recovery was smooth sailing but it very much is individual because it will depend on how much damage the band has done.

Having an RNY is like feeling normal. no more stuck episodes, you can eat healthy food again. my results are evident in my surgery info. Good luck!

Hi there,

I have my band out and revision to bypass a couple of days after you, on 14th. Like you, I am nervous but pretty excited. Nervous about the post-op week (my surgeon only does this by open surgery) and the recovery from that. But after that the exciting bit starts!

I had a Lap Band for 10 years and so wish I’d had gastric bypass in the first place. Eating is so much more normal and I’m eating way healthier because I tolerate everything except high sugar foods. Fullness is gradual and my capacity is larger so I don’t feel ripped off. The weight isn’t flying off, but I think I’m doing well and feeling really good. I don’t think you’ll regret your decision. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
