OCTOBER SLEEVERS CHECK IN HERE

Hi All,

Didn't see an October Post Op thread so I figured I'd start one.

I was sleeved on Oct. 17,2017. I had no complications, only pain I dealt with was the gas that was stuck in my rib/chest area for about 4 days. I didn't have any nausea or vomiting and have been doing great. Only frustrating thing is I hit a stall about 10 days ago and the scale hasn't moved yet. How's everyone doing?

Hi October Sleevers!

I'm almost 4.5 months in, and so far so good! I am down around 110lbs and it's been smooth sailing so far. I've been eating a variety of food and doing a "reasonable" job at keeping up my fluids.

A few days ago everything seemed to change... All of a sudden I have zero appetite, and when I do try and eat something (because I am keeping in mind that I need to fuel my body) it just sits VERY heavy and I get stomach cramps for the next couple of hours.

This means for the last 3 days I have literally only eaten a few spoonfuls of food - after that I get stomach cramps for 2 hours then I feel fine again. I am not hungry and don't have any other complaints... But I am worried that suddenly I am not eating anything, and my attempts to eat are not going well.

Has anyone experienced this? I searched the forums and the only other posts I could find about loss of appetite were from people immediately pre or post surgery. Or some others had it 3 months in but it was related to integestion and stomach acid issues... I don't believe that's what I am experiencing as I feel fine, just not hungry at all.

Previous to the last few days I had a good appetite and was eating (and enjoying) three meals per day.

Added: I am still able to drink fluids without any problems, so I am keeping my fluids up - I wish I could eat something though just so ensure I am getting some nutrients in.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

What about protein shakes? They are the only thing I could think of. powerade zero, sugar free vitamin water, sugar free propel. Jello. Sorry I dont have many answers. Oh and if you are drinking sugar free, check the label. I cant do crystal light, (they use sweet n low). Makes me soooo sick. I use 4C, they use splenda.

I was 261 on October 31st, 2017 and today March 3, 2018, I am 212 pounds! My antidepressants are being adjusted and that aspect has been hellish. Crying myself to sleep some nights, now I'm coming out hopefully. I workout as I can somedays it is hard to get my butt out of bed. I get in gym time 3 days a week of about an hour, learning to give myself grace while at the same time holding myself accountable. I sleep so much better without that 50 pounds on my chest and body, more then just looks (I do look better) is I'm able to move more quickly as I workout, and I'm not yawning after I leave the gym like I used to. So it's worth the mental battle as my body is like a leveler bubble all over the place right now, it'll find the center soon enough. Pray for me regarding my ongoing depression please for those that do pray. Thanks.

Beautiful afternoon for a nice walk in the park and some selfies! I'm really enjoying living now and not just existing!!

I have lost 41 lbs since being sleeved 10/13/17. I feel like the loss rate has been sooooo slow and had to overcome a few stalls. I have 25 lbs still to lose to hit my ultimate goal weight. But I have 7 months to lose that weight to make my goal.

I did a face transformation comparison the other day for myself. Needed to see the change to remind myself that even though I feel like the loss is slow, there is still loss.

fantastic job! :)

Went to a wedding today and I didn’t run away from the camera too much. Here’s a before and after (183lbs vs 142lbs):

It’s been a tough couple of weeks.. my surgery was 10/30/17. I’ve lost 90 lbs so far but I’ve been stalled for 12 days. I still struggle to get in enough water every day.

I’m trying not to freak out. I workout 4-5 days a week. Walking and weightlifting. I’m eating 800-1,000 calories a day about 70 grams of protein.

Advice appreciated my goal is drop another 70 lbs by my surgery anniversary.
