I have a date!

Recommended Posts

I finally have a date after going through this process for over 1 year: 11/13/17! It's been slow and agonizing, but I'm glad that it is finally here. Just had pre-op yesterday, so I'm ready to go. I'm having an RNY and removal of the hated lap band. What a waste this lap band was. I lost tons of weight in the first year, but failed after that. The band more likely wasn't the issue ;) it was the person who harbored it. I've long since have changed my eating habits and now watch what I put into my mouth. Mostly fruits, veggies, and lean meats. My problem is on the weekends. My food monster shows its horrible face every Saturday and Sunday. I will have to work on that issue for sure! Thank you for listening to me :)

I'm just starting my journey too. Had my first surgeon visit on 10/13 and have the abdominal ultrasound and first nutrition appointment coming up on Monday. Pulmonary appointment on Tuesday. February upper endoscopy and a March cardiologist appointment. Because of my insurance the process takes 7 months (7 nutritionist visits). I also wonder why the the OP had such a dragged out process. Wishing you both the best on your journeys

Hi Stella210. It took over a year because of all of the tests I had to do for this procedure and then they sprang another test on me after all of those were done. After every test was finished, the 2 hospitals (the surgical one and their satellite office) got confused about what paperwork I had or didn't have. Was a mess. I believe this process usually takes less than 6 months. Good luck in your journey!

Doing better I've been in pain most of the time but today is better. Having an extremely difficult time finding a Protein Drink I like. Finally found Core with 26g of Protein. Better to get 26g per meal than nothing. How are you doing?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
