9 months post op with stomach pain

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on 1/30/17. They removed my band that had been there since 5/20/14. I have had no issues...except for now. Not sure if it is related to the surgery or not. Yesterday I was driving home from the grocery store and I got a couple of sharp twinges near my ex-port incision. It almost felt like sutures ripping or popping open. It felt like that on and off for about 30 minutes. It hurt worse when I took a deep breath. I went to the bar for an Irish wake and drank wine and ate some Snacks. No issues eating to drinking at all. I woke up at 4 this morning with the worst chills. I mean my teeth were chattering. I made myself get up and put more clothes on and take Tylenol. 45 minutes go by and I vomit up bile and the Tylenol. I preceded to dry heave and vomit for the next couple of hours. I have pain in my stomach that wraps around to my back. I have a low-grade fever. I am able to keep fluids down now this afternoon and ate some toast. I just rolled over to get the remote and I get that weird tugging sensation again. So my question is, can my staple line open up after 9 months? Sorry for the long post. I’m worried and will be calling my surgeon in the morning.

If you can't reach your surgeon on the phone I would go to the emergency room. Fever and chills combined with pain is never a good sign, and no one on here is qualified to give medical advice. Try an urgent care center if you want to avoid the ER but they might send you there anyways! Feel better and sorry you are going through this!

Please don't wait, you should go to the ER now.

Seriously no doctors here. Fever and chills could mean infection and or sepsis. Please don't seek medical advice on this forum!!! Your life matters!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
