Calling all October sleevers!!

Recommended Posts

Sadly, I cannot stand Facebook or all its actual and subliminal advertising and dirty links. I gave up using it as it was just too annoying to have me comments filtered by algorithms and then used to market 5h1t to me that I did not want.

I refuse to pay for people to use my bandwidth to market to me. Disgusting.

Surgery (sleeve) was 10/23 and today has been the roughest. Which may be weird. I have no idea. The pain isn't awful, no nausea at all, but crampy and tummy feels like it's been squeezing all day. And SO TIIRED! Been trying to rest as much as possible and soak up the news that we are welcoming a second grandson in March 2018!

So today has been a big up and down for me emotionally. Looking forward to a better tomorrow.

:)

This happened with everything. Even YouTube ads, yahoo ads, etc. if you’re u have internet (even just on your phone) you are paying people to advertise to you.

No ... Weblock works on killing ads and pop-ups almost everywhere except Facebook. AdBlockPlus works on the laptop with TrendMicro Security ... again, the FaceBook algorithm can slip through.

Example: I said one day in February 2016 on my Facebook feed that I was pissed off be new electricity charges. Within five hours two electricity retailer reps had been to my front door canvassing for my change of business. And within 24 hours, I had been messaged/emailed by five others. That's the 5h1t that pisses me off.

That sounds like a virus rather than the advertising I’m talking abt. Facebook doesn’t naturally have pop ups and neither do any of the websites I’ve mentioned.

No.

Companies pay Facebook to use algorithms to find them customers via the things they talk about. (I have seen three documentaries about this evil practice.)

Those companies can then have targeted ads placed on Facebook where you are reading your feed from your FB friends. You can also have what I have already described ... companies making cold calls at the front door, via Facebook or via FB notifications offering goods and services.

Surgery Was on 10/03, down 25.6 lbs. Weight loss slowed this week, but I am losing inches. I feel great. Red meat doesn't sit well with me nor does cheating by trying to sample bad choices, so yep...I stopped that nonsense. I finally got a small hunger feeling this week, but no cravings. I didn't see a difference, but others notice. So, I took a photo today and put it side by side with a before VSG pic and it is insane to see the face behind the extra lbs. How are you all doing? #wecandoit

I had my sleeve done on Mon (10/23), and things have been going very well. The day of surgery was rough and i had A LOT of nausea after surgery. The nausea went away after about 12 hours and everything has been rather easy since. I have had no issues with nausea, gas or pain since coming home, I have not vomited once since the day of surgery, have not needed any pain meds since leaving the hospital, and seem to have nearly as much energy as I did before the sleeve.

I initially gained about 8 pounds immediately after surgery (as expected), but as of this morning I am down 8 pounds. I feel fortunate, because I have not had any issues tolerating anything yet, and have been able to get all of my Water and nutrients in with ease. I hope things continue to be this easy.

I had my sleeve done, morning 10/26....now it is 10/28. I came home yesterday. Some pain, trying to walk and use incentive spiromotry, coughing is a bit hard due to sore abdomen. Not to be gross...but having loose liquid stools.

I just want a few days to go by, so I feel more normal. It's not horrible, but getting a lot of belly gurgling and it is tough to take sips.

````````````````````````````````````````````````````
I wrote that yesterday and I think I forgot to post it...It is now the evening of 10/29 and I feel a lot better. I am contemplating going into work for a one hour meeting/presentation...then back home to rest
Also, is anyone starting a FB page for us October sleevers? If not I'll set one up!
      Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
      I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
