Hi everyone! I'm just joining the club, I have a surgery date of Sept. 12 in Mexico with Dr. Juan Antonio Lopez Corvala and I'm soooo excited to finally be taking control of my life! Yet, I'm also nervous about not having a local follow up community to help me along so I'm hoping to find some like-minded buddies to take this journey with! Good Luck to you all!!!

Welcome! I too will be having surgery with Dr. Corvala. I was also concerned about not having any local follow up, but have just decided to read up as much as I can and prepare for what is to come. My sleeve surgery is 1 week from today. Feel free to hit me up with any questions. I will give you feedback once I am home from Mexico. I have also decided to sign up for some therapy sessions. Not everyone needs therapy, but I wanted someone in my corner. I get so worried about failure-and try to push it to the back of my mind. Can you look to see if there are any WLS support groups in your area? There is a ton of good information on here, and a lot of seasoned WLS Pros that have great advice. My advice? Read read read. You can do this! Good luck to you on this journey!

Thanks Cherbear416, that would be awesome! I haven't really started looking local yet. I live out in the country about 45 miles to the nearest "city" so I was hoping to get some online support as well. Plus I think it'll keep me in line and accountable when I'm traveling, lol. Good luck with your surgery I bet you're really getting excited now! I can't wait to hear all about your trip!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
