any November 2017 sleevers?

Hey everyone,

I got the phone call yesterday that I was approved and I have my surgery date November 21st. I am excited and a little nervous because it is actually happening!

They should have given you a pre-op diet according to your BMI. I guess a week or two you should start. I am no expert and my surgery is November 2. My BMI is 38 and 36 on good days. So 3 days before surgery I start a diet of no sugar, no or low carbs, one Protein Drink in the morning and one in the afternoon. They higher the Protein the longer you will stay full. Then for dinner lean chicken, tuna, or turkey only. I can have all the sugar free Jello or clear broth that I want. I think it helps the surgery go better for you. May be less gas or something. If your BMI is higher than mine you probably should do a week or 2 before. Your doctor should be able to tell you. From my dieting experience I found that the good oils (olive, avocado is the best) will help you stay full. I need to ask if we can have oils. But always ask your doctor. I am just another patient that has questions too.

During my seminar I was told to eat light 3 days before and the day before liquid diet only. I was told by my physician overweight (i hate the word obese) individuals have a larger liver and the light meals before surgery allow the liver to shrink slightly so the surgery is smother sailing!

I went for my nutrition consult today! Next week Psych Consult! I should hear about insurance acceptance by the middle of October. How exciting and terrifying!!!

How is everyone else doing on all of the pre-surgery hoops??

Yes! I heard that too. If the liver is too large there will be complications. It is hard to do because the liver is in the way. If the liver bleeds I think that is really bad. But people blame the doctor instead of thier neglect to follow directions.

I’m in south Jersey and set for Nov 8. All my pre-op appts are coming up! Very excited and nervous but so ready!!!

I was just scheduled for the 8th! Just waiting on the official word from my insurance, but the doctor's office isn't anticipating any issues. Good luck!!

November 1st. Ft Myers Florida with dr. Sheih. Super excited but also extremely nervous. My aetna insurance does not cover this surgery because they say my employer opted out of this coverage. Which sucks.... Oh well. Gotta do what is needed regardless! Good luck everyone.

Scheduled my surgery for November 21st with Dr Adams in Norfolk VA, I’m excited and a little nervous. My birthday is Nov 22nd so I will be starting my journey to better health before my 40th birthday [emoji177]

Mine is the 21st as well...so exciting! I turned 40 this past April! Body just isn't the same but this will help us both have the opportunity to make the next 40 the best that we can!

November 20th! So excited! I 'me ready to become the best me. I have a two week liquid diet that will start Nov.6th. I keep telling myself the two weeks before may be a struggle but I've been struggling for the last 16 years with this weight, so two weeks I can do. I have my liquid diet items bought already for nov 6th, just three weeks away! A new healthy slim me is around the corner. I cant wait till 2018 to see how far i can go!

Perfect i was looking for someone to share me date. I would love to keep in touch and check on you during our journey! So far I've gotten my Premier Protein shacks, isopure and natural whey protein power to put in my soups.( Miso, bone broth & Chicken broth).

My mother in law also had this surgery and will be making some puree foods for me to freeze and use when I get to the puree stage.

I can not wait to be feeling and looking great in my own body. Lets keep in touch @Maryvsg87
