Hey everyone,

I got the phone call yesterday that I was approved and I have my surgery date November 21st. I am excited and a little nervous because it is actually happening!

Where are you going to get it done?

Hey everyone,

Ok@sugar42 we are surgery sisters, mine is the 20th. Let’s do this!!

I’m having mine done at Journey Lite -Dr. Curry -

I have a question, I just finished my 3 months dietary visits, my trigger date is Nov 21, I’m a little nervous because I have gained weight even though Avmed will not deny me because of that, but I need to start preparing or dieting already? Should I start eating as if I had the gastric sleeve?

They should have given you a pre-op diet according to your BMI. I guess a week or two you should start. I am no expert and my surgery is November 2. My BMI is 38 and 36 on good days. So 3 days before surgery I start a diet of no sugar, no or low carbs, one protein drink in the morning and one in the afternoon. They higher the protein the longer you will stay full. Then for dinner lean chicken, tuna, or turkey only. I can have all the sugar free jello or clear broth that I want. I think it helps the surgery go better for you. May be less gas or something. If your BMI is higher than mine you probably should do a week or 2 before. Your doctor should be able to tell you. From my dieting experience I found that the good oils (olive, avocado is the best) will help you stay full. I need to ask if we can have oils. But always ask your doctor. I am just another patient that has questions too.

Congratulations...Very exciting, only 47 days! But who's counting? The 21st cannot come soon enough!

I’m in south Jersey and set for Nov 8. All my pre-op appts are coming up! Very excited and nervous but so ready!!!

I'm suppose to have surgery November 6th. But worried I'm not even going to be approved. My insurance wants proof I was compliant with my band follow up and when I went to call my surgeon that did the prior surgery they were so rude and said they didn't have records from that long ago, and then put me on hold and said it takes 5-7 days! I've had two pregnancies in the span of 3 years so I didn't have work out during that time(per doctors orders) and I'm scared they will say I haven't made enough effort to loose weight with the band over the past 11 years. Has me so depressed

November 20th.
