Hey everyone,

I got the phone call yesterday that I was approved and I have my surgery date November 21st. I am excited and a little nervous because it is actually happening!

I generally don't have post op nausea even when they took out my gall bladder, but this is my stomach, so it could be a whole different ball game. Thanks for the info. Good luck to you! :784_peace:

Thanks. I should have looked it up first. It is Emend. I have never had Post-Op nausea either, buy doc says this will cause it, and I will weigh more when I leave the hospital than on admission because he will fill me full of fluids.

Good luck to you too! I think you are before me. [emoji3]

Today is the day. On my way to the hospital. Let’s do this. Today starts my new life.

SW ??(Surgery 11/8)
Goal Weight 200

Had my last nutrition visit today, and I was down 4 lbs! Pre Op on the 20th and Surgery on the 30th! Getting so close.

I go to the hospital in a few hours. My surgery isn't until 4 pm CST. I'm up all night anyway so this is good timing for me. Good luck with yours, may your nausea be calm or something like that.

Just had my preop appt. with my surgeon. It went well. He is giving me a drug called Amend. You take one pill three hours before surgery, and it prevents post op nausea. He says he has used it in 700 procedures, and it works well. Insurance may not cover it, but it only costs $30. I thought I should mention this since so many people suffer with this.

Thanks for the tip! I have always have post op nausea/vomiting so I have contacted my surgeon and requested this medication or something similar. I am waiting to hear back - keeping my fingers crossed. :)

Good luck! I know you will do great. Let us know how you are.

Good luck everyone!! My surgery is on the 16th and I can't wait! This liquid diet has been rough!

Hi everyone! I just logged on here for the first time. Some of you have already had your surgeries and can’t wait to here how it goes. My surgery is scheduled for 11/15.

I'm the 15th as well! So excited and nervous

About to head back for surgery. I almost talked myself out of it, but I'm here. Praying this is the best decision of my life!

Prayers appreciated. Still so nervous.

I am out of surgery and I had a little bit of nausea, but that finally subsided. The gas however took a bit longer, Drinking hurt big timed, so I did what any mother would do... I patted and rubbed my chest until I burped.. It was the most wonderful burp I've had today. I'm feeling sooooo much better. How are the rest of the 11/8's?

I am so glad you are okay and your nausea wasn’t too bad. I will keep that burp tip in my pocket for my turn. Take care of yourself. [emoji106]
