  7. My plan is only 1/2 water and 1/2 juice for the entire first week. No protein at all. I would just concentrate on fluids for now. Good luck! Surgery Date: 11/16/17 HW- 416 (Sept. 2014) CW- 353.4 SW-????? GW- 160
  8. I have been taking Zicam swabs. Did you have a cough? I am perfectly fine besides this darn cough! No fever or anything. I'm determined to kick this by Thursday. My insurance changes Jan 1st so I am terrified of being rescheduled! I had a baby this year so I've reached my deductible and max out of pocket for the year.. Been drinking a ton of broth, sitting in the steamy shower, Benadryl, sudafed, inhaling essential oils the whole 9! Ughughugh! Surgery Date: 11/16/17 HW- 416 (Sept. 2014) CW- 353.4 SW-????? GW- 160

  15. You can do it! I think day 2 I wanted to die but after that was way easier. I'm a mom of 4 so I know how you feel! Hang in there it will be over soon!
  16. Best of luck to you!!
  17. 11/16 here!! Good luck, Ladies!! Here's to a new life full of health and happiness! ❤️
  18. My surgery is the same day (11/16)! I also have kids (4) 9, 5, 3 and 6 months. I have a lot of the same concerns as you do. Maybe try to make some freezer meals and lunches before surgery so you can rest a bit? Maybe they can buy lunch at school? My 5 and 9 year olds are pretty self sufficient, thankfully. It is the littles that need to be picked up that I'm more concerned about. Hang in there you will do great!!
  19. If you call BCBS they will set you up with a patient advocate (an RN) that is there to answer all of your questions. She will go over everything with you so you know exactly what is required for approval.
  20. Best of luck to you! I am also 11/16 and knee deep in this liquid diet! Congrats!
  21. Hello! I have BCBS Illinois and was just approved last month for my sleeve surgery on 11/16. You do NOT need 6 months of nutrition classes for your insurance. They also no longer require you to lose weight before surgery. My surgeons office tried to tell me the same thing at first because most bcbs insurances require it. BCBS Illinois only requires one meeting with a nutritionist. However my surgeon did require 3 months of classes. I would print out your policy and bring it with you to your appointment. Feel free to message me with any questions! Good luck!
  22. I also want to add my first appointment with my surgeon was August 8th. I really rushed and had all of my testing completed in about 1 month. My program requires 3 months of nutrition classes.
  23. My follow up appointment with my surgeon with all pre-surgery requirements completed was September 26th and my surgery is scheduled for November 16th. Everything was submitted to insurance on October 6th and was approved Ooctober 26th. I have BCBS of Illinois. Hope that helps!
  24. Anyone else terrified of getting sick? I feel like everyone around me either has strep, pneumonia or a cold. Tis' the season! I am so paranoid about it. At my pre-anesthesia appointment the nurse said my surgery would most likely be cancelled if I get sick. Thursday can't come soon enough!??
