Almost a year out and 4/5 week stall

Recommended Posts

I know stalls are normal after wls however I have only ever stalled for around 7-10days max before, I'm currently on stall week 5!!

I do have 'little treats/cheats' I'm not 100% perfect but I'm always within my daily intake allowances/recommendations but my dr encouraged this as this for me is a lifestyle change one I can withstand long term.

I eat 850-950 calories a day around 50-60g of Protein - so do you think I should up this to increase/jump start my weight loss? My nut recommends that by 18/24 month out I should be stabilised at around 1200 calories.

I cannot do structured exercise due to being a electric wheelchair user but I do try and move as much as possible to help burn calories.

Also today I ate 9 oz in one meal is this a lot?? At this point how many oz can you eat, as I feel I can eat way more than I expected? For example Last week I asked my sister to fix me Breakfast and asked for 2 weetibix yet after I finished and remarked that I was surprised I'd eaten it all she said oh it was actually 3 as they had broken and I wasn't putting one back! Needless to say I will not be asking ANYONE to make me food again. Anyway I'm just surprised I couldn't tell I'd eaten 3 (mushed up) and wasn't even at my full can't eat another bite level!

My stats are;
Sleeved on 13 July 16
5ft 2
Sw: 275lbs
Cw: 193

I get the frustration. I regularly stalled. I had some three week ones, a six week and a nine week one in my initial 17 month loss period. It took that long to lose 107 pounds. Then, post baby (I got pregnant two years post op) it took 14 months to lose 27 pounds. Do that math! :D

I know you want to beat your head on the wall. But really, short of upping Protein slightly, or drinking more Water, the best way through a stall is just forward. They break. It's painful. But they end. Nothing I did ever made a magical change, UNLESS the reason I wasn't losing was my eating habits had slipped.

If that's the case, you know the fix. But you sound solid.

Good luck. It's tough. You'll get there.

Cheri

Also, I'm 5'1", was sleeved at 242, but started researching sleeve at 286. We're of a similar starting point. I'm 118 now, original goal of 135. Don't give up!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
