Burning fat releases estrogen, so you are correct that it is common to have crazy emotions. As for dealing with them, just remember it is not permanent, and it will get better. If you are completely overwhelmed, there is no harm in seeing a psychologist.

I get it, I just moved to a new city and I will probably have to take an uber to and from the hospital because I dont know anyone. Im scared of being lonely too.

Wow, that must be so hard! I'm sorry. Everything I have read in my surgeon's instructions say that you will not be discharged without someone else with you. Have you cleared that with your surgeon? I would hate for you to get a surprise on the day of surgery.

I think maybe it's because of the medications. I had my mum take me home as partner doesn't drive but I feel like you need that support because it's an emotional rollercoaster until you work out what's going on and getting in your new routine.some people are different though some won't be emotional

I wish you all the best. Thus group has been a good support to me because not all my friends and family understand what this feels like. So emotionally, just try to stay focused and do reach out to people that have similar issues and that may help. I'm 5 days post op and I'm doing well. I do have a lot of support but I'm Journaling to help with emotions!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
