So I was told I shouldn't have any trouble swallowing my everyday meds, but even the small Percocet they gave me I cut into three pieces and now it feels like a lump

In my throat. I haven't even tried taking my regular everyday pills and medicine. So what's the trick?

I couldn't either the first month. Now I can swallow my horse pills with no problem. I thought it was because I was too afraid to take a big drink to get the pill down. Now I can gulp more Water now.

my surgeon was explicit, no pills for 12 weeks. I crushed mine. Each surgeon is different but I'd recommend crushing your pills. It sucks but it sucks less than swallowing the pills and then possible getting an ulcer because it sits on the unhealed seam while it's disintegrates.

I was allowed pills right off the bat. I had no problem taking them either.
If you're struggling with them either wait five minutes between taking each pill or crush them. Time release pills should not be crushed however.

Oh wow. Are you at home now? Is it bad pain?

Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm home now that I'm passing gas not as bad pain as earlier.

My doctor was pretty adamant about crushing pills for the first couple months, but in the hospital they gave them to me straight. No crushes. I even asked and the nurses said it was fine. I've been swallowing them ever since and it seems to be fine.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
