From the discussions I had with my nutritionist you just need some decent, run of the mill A to Z chewable one a day Vitamins (which I'll take two a day).

I would be very sceptical about some of these 'bariatric' products. There's nothing special about them, from looking at ingredients they are often everyday items rebadged. They charge more because they know we're worried and need reassurance... so they can get away with it.

I got a great deal on Centrum on Amazon here (in the U.K.) but my nutritionist also recommended some supermarket own label.

My date is July 6th too. I bought some soft chews on Amazon yesterday (bariatric fusion). I hate the taste of chewable flintstones. Hopefully I'll be ok with the soft chews. I did not buy the others yet since i have 2 weeks before I can start other Vitamins. I'm waiting to see what my tastebuds like after surgery.

You need the multi Vitamin with Iron 3x a day and then the calcium citrate 3x a day, but two hours after the multi. This is because the iron and Calcium will not work well together. Are Flinstones full of sugar and do they have the levels of the Vitamins and minerals we need?

According to the nutritional/RDA panel the Flintstone Vitamins are pretty good, one tablet gives you your recommended daily allowance of most essential vitamins (I'm assuming that the US RDA/NRV is comparable to the European Union recommendations). In respect of Calcium supplementation multivitamins tend to carry low amounts, however if you have a dairy component in your diet that will be well covered.

My nutritionist pointed out that Vitamin D deficiency, which will affect your ability to process calcium, is a problem for some bariatric patients. However the reason isn't necessarily nutritional, rather that obese people quite often have a a tendency to cover up and avoid the sun (which is your best source for the generation of Vitamin D).

The surgeon's nurse told me that they're just fine.

I've got a short week to get the Vitamins necessary for post-op. Can anyone tell me where they're the cheapest? Online or in store both work. [emoji4] Thanks in advance.
BTW I'm so nervous already!

UPDATE
I've ordered "Barimelts" from jet.com. Decent price, free shipping, AND they're bundled in a 90 day pack! Even has Biotin included. I'm anxious to taste them. Regardless I'm stuck with em.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
