I was told by several people who had WLS their poop smells really bad always. Some say that it can be very embracing to use the restrooms in public places. Is this true for both the Bypass and Sleeve?

For DS and Bypass patients, yeah, pretty much.

And for sleeve patients as well.

Everyone's poop stinks regardless of whether they've had WLS. Name one individual, bariatric surgery patient or otherwise, who defecates crap that smells like roses and honey.

Obesity has a far worse impact on our lives than strong-smelling fecal matter.

Not true for me. I had bypass.

Mine doesn't stink more - it's just way more green.

has more to do with dietary changes than the actual surgery itself. High protein diets tend to smell worse, just goes with the territory.

Mine has not changed at all. I am a year out from surgery.

It depends on what you eat. And lets face it: poop usually doesn't smell good anyway.

I was told the same thing and worried I would be known around the office for my bathroom odors. Nope. Nothing has changed. It doesn't smell any worse or better than before.

I agree that it depends what i eat but with that being said we eat high protein so on days that i can do most of my protein without a shake those are the days that i know will be smelly

I haven't experienced a difference with the sleeve. Regardless, if I'm out...I use Poo-pourri or V.I.Poo and it doesn't matter anyway.

I think it's true, I believe it is due to the high protein diet

I haven't noticed a difference, but I think poop smells bad either way.
