Christian bandsters

If there are any Christians out there who are looking for special support during this time I thought we could start a thread related to this. It might help with those thoughts and doubts as to if this is the right thing we are doing or any other 'shares' that might come to mind. I could use some at this time in my walk.

Sister in Christ,

Valerie

Stepoffaith, I just really looked at your name and a light bulb went off in my head. "STEP OF FAITH" isn't that what we all need (Romans 12:3). I was too delighted to read your praise report. When I have that kind of peace, it's like it's God's way of telling me, "it's alright". I just smiled when I read about everything and said "you go God".

Cindy, how are things going?

Thor, give us a report as soon as you feel up to it.

Jaunderwood, Gods' delay isn't always his denial. The dr will call, use that waiting time, thanking him for the answer!!!!!!!

2be me again

I do have a peace about this . I talked to the nurse today .She said she is planning on submitting my paperwork next week.Good News

Thanks for everyones prayers

This thread is truly a blessing! I'm a Christian and my surgery is Feb 4th! I'm soooo thankful to God for this tool and specifically to have support from others of like precious faith! I'm a little nervous that "something will happen" to cause a delay and reading the posts...I see that's not uncommon. BUT, I'm confident in this one thing...He that's begun a good work in me...SHALL perform it! Thank you all for your prayers & support!

That's right Diva, the parting knowing that everything has been approved, even if it's put back,it will still happen. There are so many that haven't even made it that far. Every step of the way we can be assured that the father is right there with us.

Jaunderwood, keep those reports coming in. :rolleyes2:

Chuckles, I went back and read in the other Christian thread that you were from Ill. I have a long time friend that lives in Joilet. Welcome to TX

Hi all,

My name is Augusta and I am a Christian who has been looking for this kind of support for some time. Thank you to the founder!

I received my band on August 28, 2007 and have since lost 71 pounds forever. I'm thrilled and give praise to God as He was the one who led me down this path.

Welcome Diva and Augusta!!!!

Praise God for this site. I read the praise report earlier and it just put a big smile on my face. I didn't have time to reply at that time (shouldn't have been online at all). I just get a warm fuzzy when I can SEE God at work. Such a blessing!

Hugs and Prayers for all :rolleyes2:

Welcome newbies. God Bless you all. Been reading all of your reports and brought a smile to my heart. Yes 2beme my name has gain lots of comments on the forums and chat room. It has been a blessing in its self. It reminds me daily I am walking in faith. Jaunderwood, God is blessing you, your day is coming soon.

I couldn't afford to have the surgery here and my insurance wouldn't cover it. I prayed to find and way and God answered my prayers through a group of doctors in Mexico. I've lost 120 lbs -- never to gain it back and couldn't be happier. Now, I've taken it on as a ministry... helping my friends and family find ways to get banded if they need to.

Hey girls, glad to see the new names. Stepoffaith, GREAT NEWS. Glad your progress is moving along. And Jaunderwood, good luck in yours moving along too. Will be praying for you guys.

I had my second fill yesterday, and I've been so full since. My doctor is so good to give such aggressive fills. Here it is so soon after my surgery and I'm allready up to 6 cc's. I'm definitely feeling restriction this time. I just hope it stays with me and doesn't loosen up like the first one did. I've been getting food stuck in my chest/throat all day today. Am learning to take littler bites and chew them much more. I'm finally feeling like my band is doing what it is supposed to do now. maybe now I'll start showing better progress on my ticker ... night all.

one more thing, to Dedria, it is wonderful that you are trying to help others. I know my sister's insurance wouldn't approve her. Do you have any suggestions? I told her I thought she should write the insurance company and appeal it and write all her medical conditions. She is still very young and a heart attack survivor. She has gained so much weight since her attacks. She really needed the surgery more than I did, but my insurance approved me with no problem. Hers didn't.

Dedria,

You have described the situation I am in. Please everyone pray with me that the Lord will open a door for me to have this surgery, and that the Lord will soften my husband's heart regarding the surgery. I know some of you already are, so thank you, and I appreciate it so much. I just know the Lord will provide! Thank you Lord in advance for your mighty work in my life! I love you and I lift your name up today!!

Everyone is doing so great, and I pray for all of us everyday!! Stay inspired for we are TRULY blessed!!!

Hugs to everyone!

Not all insurance companies will cover it. I finally had to pay for mine, but it cost about half of what the doctors here charge and I didn't have to go through all that pre-surgical diet, psychiatric analysis, etc. I just went on a Friday, came back Monday and was back to work on Tuesday. I'll keep your sister in my prayers and if she decides that she just needs to do it NOW, then get it touch with me and I'll help her make it happen.

I'll certainly say my prayers for you. My husband was also very concerned, but now he is so happy that I'm so much healthier. I was on the verge of being diabetic, having suffered through gestational diabetes with my second child. I also had problem with my hormones and thyroid -- all related to my obesity. You may want to look up the latest issue of the American Medical Association's Journal that talks about how the band surgery cures (no more meds) Type 2 diabetes. The doctors wrote that it is the safest, best way to treat diabetes. Just something to study. I'll pray that the Lord's will be done in your life.
