I'll tell you what, tomorrow is the big day and after getting all of the rules for eating and information on how I would have to change my eating habits. . . . . . . . . . well, I became overwhealmed. There is so much to think about now, just to eat a meal. Can you even enjoy it anymore. Don't get me wrong, I am still going through with this. . . . . . it's just tough. Then I read people saying they had as many as 12 fills :)? Holy Cow. Way more than I anticipated. Sheeesh. Positive feedback anyone :cry.

Thank you for starting this thread. I am a newbie to this site and just found this thread. I love all your honesty and encouragement. I would love to join in too if you'll have me too. I am Christian gal who decided to take that step of faith, thus the name. I struggled with the decision also wondering if I shouldn't be able to do this without surgery. Now I am dealing with the frustrations of obtaining doctor appointments and insurance approvals. This can test one's faith can't it? But God is good and He will prevail. Thanks for all your words of encouragement to each other. Your sister in Christ, Cindy

Hi stepoffaith! I just had my surgery 12/12/07. I am so glad I did it. The lord will work everything out for you like he did for me. Hang in there and give god the praise. For with him everything is possible. Your brother in Christ, Dan

Hey Wombat, it's SO nice to be with friendly people! I have started back on solids, but haven't ventured beef yet. I get my first fill TODAY (I hope!!!). I still have a little redness around my port incision, so I'm trying to prepare myself in case the dr. doesn't want to do the fill yet. But, I am very hungry and am looking forward to not feeling those cravings!

Thanks for the prayers and the encouragement and the welcome!!!

Hey Song in My soul, don't feel overwhelmed. It's much easier than you think. when they first told me all liquids, I almost freaked! I am totally a meat eater and the first couple of days were rough, but it DID get easier. So, just hang in there, we are TOUGHER than we think!

Hello Everyone!

I am so excited to find this thread! I have been on the boards for a couple of weeks, but just discovered this one today. I started liquid only diet on 12/14 and was banded on 12/28. I need support!

I know that God led me to do this, I have total peace about it. I am trusting him to help me eat only good things and giving my body daily to Him for the rest of my life.

Hey Princesstracey, I am new here too, but already know that I love it! I have sensed much more friendliness and a sense of belonging than any of the other threads I've been posting on. Have you gotten a fill yet, or a date for one? I know I am supposed to get mine TODAY!!! I am NOT good at waiting on things, either. But, I'm learning patience ....

candy - good luck on your fill today!!! You'll probably have to go back to mushies at least if not liquids for a day or so. My first fill was fabulous. I would be able to eat 2 chicken nuggets and be full for the rest of the day. I haven't had it quite that good since then but losing weight will keep changing it up :D I have the hardest time with beef so unless it's really tender it's not gonna work for me.

Songinmysoul - don't worry about all the rules. The biggest is do the liquids when you should, the mushies when you should and then on to solids. Eat Protein first and then your veggies. That's the simplistic version :woot:

I can eat just about anything - even the things they say you won't be able to; I just don't eat much of it. Not everyone has the same reactions. I can eat some Pasta but very little! I can eat some bread (toasted only) but again very little. I do still enjoy food; I can eat mexican, italian, etc.

Hugs & prayers for everyone :woot:

Good morning everyone, again I'd like to extend my "hello's" to you all. I love this thread as well. I "lurk" around the others and I find that it is too much drama in a lot of them. Kinda funny to. There are some that give great support, but I feel most comfortable here.

Thanks, Wombat, I just need to get up and GET going, LOL. I was going good at first and now since I'm not losing as fast as I think I should be, it sort of depressed me. I'm trying hard to watch what I eat. I am more restricted in the mornings than I am in the evenings. I can still eat almost everything except turkey.

Be Blessed everyone today as we journey with the Lord. I hope everyone read what Ahooge wrote, it truly blessed my soul.

HEY EVERYBODY - I GOT MY FIRST FILL! The doctor said everything looked good. I FINALLY found out what kind of band I have. It is a vanguard 10cc band, and today I got a 3cc fill. He said that was the max he ever gives. And, I have an appt. set up for Jan. 31st to see if I need another.

I am SO happy. Maybe this will be the start to the end of my hunger pangs. He told me to stick with mushies today and just take it easy. And, I had lost .6 pounds from the last dr. visit the day after Christmas. Not much, but every tenth of a pounds COUNTS!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
