How long from First appt until surgery?

Recommended Posts

Information seminar: 10/4/2016
Initial consultation: 10/25/2016

6 months of insurance required hoops to jump thru

Surgery scheduled for 7/5/2017

So exactly 9 months.

I saw my surgeon in November 2016. Surgeon requires psych consult, nutrition consult, a swallow xray test and and endoscopy, plus an information session and a support group meeting. All completed by December except Endoscopy wasn't completed until February because of the doctors schedule and my schedule having several conflicts. Surgeon also required minimum 25lb weight loss.
My insurance did require 6 months but I already had several months in a medically supervised program so that didn't delay me.
I could have had surgery in March, but I had a Suez canal cruise planned so I asked for surgery after I got back. [i was gone for 19 days and lost 4lbs while on vacation!]
Had vsg on 5/26.

Mine took 5 months but only because I delayed getting all my appointments for testing. There was no specific time frame required by my insurance. Once I did everything she scheduled my surgery date pretty quickly.

Submitted to insurance today 6/13/2017

I'm hoping for a surgery date in July.

5-6 months.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
