I just got my surgery date, and it's August 16th! Soooo relieved and happy this is going to happen. Scared too, but determined.

I think that will be my date too, but I still need to confirm. Do you have a 2 week liquid diet too?

Wow, reading all of these has me excited! I don't have a definite date as of yet because the submission for approval was just sent off today....BUT my surgeon said it will be sometime in mid August! [emoji41]

Yes, I will have to do the 2 week liquid diet too. I was told it would be two meal-replacing shakes a day and a dinner with strict guidelines (like 4 oz. lean protein, veggies). Good luck on getting your date!

Awesome! Are you excited? We should stay in touch.

Yes, I am excited but nervous too! I just want it over with Lol! We should stay in touch that would be great!

Congratulations! I'm Aug 22nd but I've know for several weeks. Are you required to do the liquid pre-diet?

What part of England? I studied there for a year during university and have fond memories :)

So I'm not doing it through the NHS (because the waiting list is disastrous) which is why it's like oh doctor meeting was last week and already a date might be set, I do have to do the diet I'm meeting with a dietitian on Tuesday, and she'll be giving me the full run down. I'm in North London, though its cheaper to go as far from central London as possible when you go privet so I'll be having my surgery in Redbridge (about an hour outs). I might end up in the states to stay with family for a bit in September (im a dual national) so I'm excited that so many people are in the states ^_^
Congrats on your date!!!!!! [emoji322][emoji322][emoji322][emoji322]

So happy for you walkinfaith! Mine is the 16 when do you start your pre op diet?

Anyone who started their pro op diet, what protein meal replacement shakes do you like the best? What other things are you eating on the liquid diet?

Hi Jessalene,

Premier Protein shakes come in a lot of flavors and I think they taste really good. Along with vanilla and chocolate they have banana cream and caramel. I will mix chocolate and banana sometimes and it's really good. They are cost effective too. Costco carries them, and I see them in all the grocery stores too. Another one I found is the Muscle Milk 100, 15g protein and only 100 calories. They have that in powder or pre-made shakes. The vanilla cream premade is amazing but for some reason really hard to find. I buy from Amazon a lot and the chocolate flavor costs $24/case and the vanilla costs twice as much! So I buy the powder of that. For clear protein drinks, someone on this site recommended Protein2O protein water in the coconut/pineapple flavor. OMG, if u like pina coladas, you will love it! 15g protein zero sugar and clear so perfect post op. I got that from Amazon. Costco has an organic bone broth that is also good. 9g protein & 45 calories. Last thing is Unjury protein powder in unflavored or chicken soup. Good for pre and post op. Folks put the unflavored in everything from coffee creamer (sugar free of course) to yogurt. Hope that helps! When's your surgery?
