I'm hear to tell people that are worried about exercise to just walk if anything because I've been walking and it's been paying off

Are you post op?
I'm a weak wobbly mess when I walk. I'm ten days out. Moving around the house is fine but when I actually put my sneakers on and go for a real walk I am spent. Idk if I'm just not getting enough calories or what.

Yes I'm post-op 4/12/17 and I've become addicted to walking but today I actually did a leg day at gym besides my 5 miles

I'm 30 days out and doing the same. I did find I can swim then float for awhile when I'm tired.

I started just walking 5 or 10 minutes, then I walked 1/2 a mile, then a mile and it builds. I can miles and miles now, I have walked 15 miles in a day, no issues. You just have to start.

I had a lot of energy at 10 days out but it would be gone very fast. That is normal. You are recovering from major surgery and living on almost no calories. It gets better.

I'm seven months out and all I do is walk and then swim and then I do some arm exercises for my arms and sit ups for my tummy. But walk walk walk. That's what I do and my body is getting into shape. One of my doctors said the only difference between walking and running is the stress on your joints. You have to walk more if you walk rather than run but they're essentially equally good for your body.

How'd you both feel ten days out? I feel like this isn't normal but idk

I was good first 10 days... I drove 470 miles and back after first three days and took up walking to ease any tension in my body

Wow! I live in the mountains and the hills in my street are killer. I can't wait to have the energy to tackle them.

Yes. That's a great idea. I feel so silly for not thinking of walking them a few times a day

I feel the same way. I live on the second floor, so I go down to throw out my trash, walk to the end of my street and back which is a quarter of a city block, then back up my stairs. I'm exhausted by the time I get back.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
