Pain in my left leg after surgery

Recommended Posts

I had surgery last week on the 22nd and every since I've had this pain in my left leg. Its not my whole leg either just on the side of my thigh. I walk as much as I can and after about 15 to 20 minutes its starts, these spasms start happening. My mother had to drive me home one day because it was so bad! Now, I know everyone is going to tell me to go to the doctor, well the FNP at CCS told me she has never heard of this happening and to just keep walking. And my primary doctor's appointment isn't until the end of next month, I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this? Is this a side effect of the anesthesia?

You cannot wait till your next pcp appointment or even your Bariatric appointment. I don't know who you spoke to at your Bari clinic but if the person on the other end of the phone doesn't know what you are talking about why put your life in their hands. Blood cots are real, they are no joke and they can kill you. We had a friend die from one not Bari related but she died with her twins inside of her. Also, I had pain on the back of my knee and had three little balls form and it hurt so (this was prior to Bariatric surgery ) I took four aspirins and went to the ER and they told me I literally saved my own life. You can't wait with stuff like this. Good luck and get that checked out.

Definitely go to the ER. Hopefully they can rule out a clot, but this is not something that can wait.

Did I type blot clot? Ugh. You know what I mean. Also, I blew off my leg pain thinking it was just cramping etc. it was a clot.

I agree with everyone here. Better safe than sorry. The ER has the right equipment to rule these things out.

Hi there, I don't think that it can be the side effect of anesthesia. Most of the time after surgery, you need to take care of your legs. Recently my grandma had her leg surgery and she finds difficult to walk or stand. Physician suggested her to use a wheelchair for mobility. I think after surgery, you need to take care of your legs until they recover fully.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
