Just looked at my Revision Bill! WOW- Paid by Ins $27K

Recommended Posts

I just looked at my BCBS Site and the bill for my revision on May 5th was in.

the Total was 42K and the Approved amount BCBS Paid was $27,500 I really didn't think it would have been that much !

And I am not yet sure if the Surgeon Cost is in there. With all the Testing for this we meet my $10,000 out of pocket max for the year as my ins runs Nov toNov.

My Dr also does original Sleeves now for $9,999.99 in surgical center .

I don't have to pay Any of this 27 k. Because I meet my 10,000 out of pocket from all the pre testing and a foot surgery.

I received the estimate from my hospital last week (surgery is next week). $32-36K for the hospital only. This does not include the fees for the surgeon, surgeon's assistant, or anesthesiologist. This is for the sleeve and is not a revision.

Wow. My dr will do sleeves for 10k. It's done at a really nice surgical facility they were just day surgery but have started to keep people overnight for Bariatric surgery

The cash option (vs insurance) is always going to be less expensive. Most surgeons in my area will perform a VSG for around $10-12K, but the insurance rate is easily three-four times that amount.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
