Hello All!

Has anyone gotten their Vitamins and supplements through their insurance? My nutritionist and surgeon sent in a prescription to my insurance for "Nutrition DIrect". With insurance they are $25 a month and mailed directly to my house each month. They were recommended because of their B12 nasal spray. I am very curious to see how this all works out. They will be sent the week before surgery, so everything will be good to go.

Very curious to see if other RNYers have dealt with them.

Hope they come in for you at that cost. For me, the cost was quoted as $179.00..(they call you with the information).I said no thank you. I think another girl on the board got them at a very low cost like that...if you search the board, you might find the conversation. The good news is if I were to change my mind (I won't) they RX is good for up to a year she told me. Good to know.

Oh wow! Yes, a customer service lady called as soon as the prescription was sent and my insurance was verified. They said the my insurance qualifies for the $25 copay. I'll definitely have to look up the other conversation!

I'm pre-op for the gastric sleeve, but I signed up for a service like this. From your description of the nasal B12 spray, it sounds like it could be the same company. My surgery isn't until the 23rd of this month, but I signed up last month and already have my first shipment on hand. As promised, the cost was $25, and insurance was billed for the rest. I had 4 weekly nasal B12 sprays, chewable Calcium and Vitamin D, Multivitamin, and Iron supplements mailed to me. They also have pill versions of the Vitamins that I can switch to once I can take them.

I decided to go this route because after researching the costs for the vitamins online, it was more expensive to get them myself. Hopefully, I'll be able to tolerate the supplements after surgery, othewise, everything seems on the level.

ETA: I took another look at your post and it is the same company - Nutrition Direct.

:( Bummed mine was so much higher. It's fine though, and I'm glad it's helping others. :) I did appreciate the idea -- but she said it ends up being different for many people.

My dietitian at one of my appts explained it to me. They filled out the paperwork at the office and faxed it to them. I'd ask your doctor's office if they have information about Vitamins. It was the week we discussed vitamins during our 6 months of appts...I've been to 4 appts so far, 2 to go. She showed me multiple options and mentioned this was a good program for many, but the co-pay can be different for different reasons. She's awesome and so helpful with information.

I'm glad to see others are using this company and enjoying it. I hope they taste decent... I'm getting the chewables for a few months after surgery. The customer service rep is calling me to finish setting everything up. Just got my date today.

I'm planning on using Nascobal and Bariactiv as well. My insurance copay is $50 month with Aetna, but I'm going to try get it from Nutrition Direct for $25.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
