When can you swim/bath tub

Recommended Posts

I just was wondering what everyone heard as for when they could go swimming. I don't know if I was told and I was wondering how long I should wait?

I've always been told you're good to go when your incisions are completely healed and all of the scabs have fallen off.

I do hydrotherapy (essentially a steam bath) at my spa several times a week. The NP told me to wait 2 weeks post-op to resume doing it. I assume swimming would be a similar timeline, although with the chlorine, it might be different. The best thing to do is ask your team.

Ask your Dr, your Dr will tell you, but at least 6 weeks.

I went once my incisions were healed and the scabs were falling off. 4 weeks out. I probably started a little earlier than was ideal but I couldn't stand waiting to get back into the pool again! I need my laps for my mental health. Your surgeon will have a timeline they prefer to stick to. I hear between 4 and 6 weeks generally, depending on the surgeon.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
