I am pretty big into the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in the State of Michigan. That being said I know many people in the VFW across the State of Michigan. It is funny to go to conferences, meetings, etc and have people that you have known for years not recognize me since I have had my RNY surgery. I mean, I guess I understand because I find myself staring at my reflection in the mirror because I don't recognize that skinnier person looking at me.

That is a nice feeling! I also don't always recognize myself! :)

Congrats Redmaxx on your journey - totally looks like you nailed it! My father is also involved in the VFW in his local area, Post 3243 in Fenton, MI. He's served as Commander twice. Perhaps you've met him? First name is Keith.

I do believe that I have. I was just at the Fenton Post a couple of weeks ago for a fundraiser.

That's wonderful. He's a great father and grandfather and commits a lot of time to the VFW. I've decided not to tell him about my surgery, as I would love to surprise him the next time I visit.

But I digress, sorry for the off topic, but thank you for your service!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
