Sleeved 4/11 5 days out

Recommended Posts

Im not sure if I understood the nutritionist correctly on my in hospital meeting with her on thursday 4/13. I believe she said to start eating cream Soups ( strained) sf yogurt, puddings etc. On Saturday 4/15. Does that sound right to you. Of course I do realise that are many variations between doctors.

That is the way my plan was. Full liquids that included strained Soups (my favorite was cream of celery) or broth, yogurt and pudding. I basically lived off of sugar free/low carb plain yogurt with a little stevia to sweeten and the cream of celery Soup. I also used Unjury unflavored Protein Powder and mixed it into my soup and yogurt to get that Protein up over 60 grams a day. I didn't eat much of the sugar free pudding though, because it's really high in carbs.

I did the above for 2 weeks. Then 2 weeks on pureed after that.

If you aren't sure about your plan, please check back with your nutritionist to be safe.

Congratulations on your surgery. :)

Mylighthouse: thank you so much for your quick response. Im glad to hear what you said.
Ive been so scared I misunderstood her, but I wrote it on my notes to advance diet on saturday. I was loopy from the pain meds and just not sure of myself. You have reassured me. Thanks so much.[emoji5]

I think I got a little lucky, I have to have a appointment with my doc on day 7 before I move into my week 2 diet. I can't start my Vitamins until then either. I also have a guide that tells me. Im so looking forward to mashed potatoes and blended Soups.

My immersion blender was my best friend in that stage.... I basically used it to make sure my Soups had no pieces in them. I used it especially on split pea Soup so I got the benefit of all the ingredients.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
