Surgery date before insurance approval?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Has anyone been given a surgery date before insurance approved?

I've been given a surgery date of April 20th, however, I have my last few appointments are on April 5th and 13th.

I called the doctors office and they said they will submit paperwork to my insurance company after my appointment on the 5th. The insurance could deny at anytime up to the day before my scheduled surgery. That's seems a bit odd to me.

Any input would be appreciated. :)

I was given a date before approval. I was approved within a week.

Thanks for your input. I hope everything goes well. It will be pretty devastating if i went through all of this to get denied. I've seen a few others on here who have been denied a day before their surgery.

keeping fingers crossed for your approval! I was not give a date until my insurance was approved.

At my last appointment with my surgeon i was told by the financial manager once I was cleared by my surgeon then my case would be submitted for insurance approval. I got the clearance from my surgeon the next day, four days later insurance approval and the next day a surgery date 04/18/2017.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
