Surgery Scheduled for July, Anyone else?

I realize that's a fair while away, but I would love to connect with others scheduled for surgery around that time. Maybe we can keep each other sane while waiting.

My surgery is July 10! Pre op appointment in two days. Very excited even though it is close it stills seems like it is dragging. I need to push my self to get serious about this pre op diet. It is just hard to know that I will not be able to eat certain foods.

My surgery is July 17. My last appt is July 7. My pre op diet starts July 3. I feel you about the pre op. I started a pre pre op diet to jump start me for my official pre op. Its been very helpful. I now have more confidence that I will be strong enough to endure it because my cravings are not as strong.

How are you doing on the liquid diet? My program allows for one meal a day of protein and non-starchy veggies, which is a god-send. I've really been sticking to it and I'm proud of myself. Today I did get some major head hunger in the afternoon. I honestly felt like a cookie junkie.

I am so miserable bit I am pushing through. I have to drink 4 optifast (gag) shakes a day and lots of water. I can drink broth eat jello and popsicles. I am praying its all worth it.

I'm due in in 12th July and started my pre-op diet a few days early.

I think I'm comparatively lucky as it's all real food, albeit very low in carbs, calories and fat.

I'm finding motivation comes easily. Knowing that the pre-op diet reduces chances of complications focussed the mind for me.

I am on day 7 of this liquid diet and all I can say is I'm HUNGRY! This is so hard. I have 6 more days to go.

8 more days here. Starting to get the calls to make sure everything is in order. It's starting to become real!

You're more than half way there! Great work :) Hunger comes and goes. A complication during surgery because of not following the plan might last forever. I'm on the 6th of July so I'm in the same boat.

Every time I get through a craving I give myself either a mental or sometimes literal pat on the back. These experiences are all small successes and deserve to be acknowledged, you'll be done in no time!:1313_thumbsup_tone4:
