Band to bypass surgery date!

Recommended Posts

I can't believe it!! I got the call yesterday from my dr that my insurance is covering both the band removal and the bypass revision.

Wednesday April 5th is the fucking day!

I am so happy, I have suffered so long with the band I am ready for this!

So happy for you!! I suffered a long time with my band too. Initially did well, but then it slipped and I had to live throwing up all the time for two years (while pregnant too!). Unfortunately I put all the weight back on plus 10lbs cause all I cold eat were slider foods.
I had my revision oct 3 and have almost lost all the weight I regained! So excited to get back to where I was and keep this loser bus going!!! This time it seems much easier (no stuck feelings).
Love my bypass!!
Good luck on your journey!

Great to hear! I got my band out Feb 8, after having it for 6 years. My surgeon wants to wait 3 months to allow healing time before doing the bypass. My next meeting with him is May 5. Hoping to get surgery scheduled end of May!

Congrats to you ! I had a band in for 9 years [emoji37] my band ended up coming a part and turning into a huge hot mess of scar tissue , along with a small ulceration and hiatal hernia . I had band to RNY last July 29th - I am down 90 lbs and working in my last 30 . You will not regret this at all . Yes life is different but in so many ways better ! I don't miss sugar and am learning to love how I look ! Good luck on your sx date and keep us posted !

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
