Anyone cut their hair dramatically after weight loss?

Recommended Posts

Coming up to the 70lb loss mark and considering cutting my hair. Not just a trim but taking it all off. Anyone else cut their hair dramatically after weight loss? If you have pictures would love to see them. This is just a fun chat about what you did to your hair after weight loss. Maybe you died it dramatically or totally change your style. Would love to hear from you.

One of the guys in my Bariatric Surgery Support Group meetings completely shaved his head after surgery. It gave him a new look and he was pleased with that.

I've had the same haircut since 8th grade. I think I'm ready for a change but not sure what. I looked up men's haircuts and they all seem so complicated.

I have a pretty face but I am not about the short hair life.

I have curly hair and now I feel like I am more of straight hair person so now I wear long straight hair wigs. Which is a huge departure from my naturally curly hair.

My face shape is different and straight hair looks better.

I love short hair on me but with all the weight gain my face is too round for short hair right now so as soon as I feel my face is slim enough (my sx is in May) I am probably cutting it off again. The first time I did it I wasn't sure how it would look as was afraid since I had hair just past my shoulders all my life but I looked and felt amazing with short hair and knew regardless it would grow back if I didn't like it

18 years ago, i became a member of cancer survivors

hair was coming out in clumps due to chemo

i decided to have my whole head of hair shaved

i wanted to take charge of my hair, not the other

way around.

interchange cancer survivor with sleeve survivor

both work

good luck

There is a saying, "when a woman cuts off her hair she is changing her life". Cut it! It will regrow! Embrace and welcome the change!

My husband loves my long black hair, but when it starts to get a bit thin and has been falling lately due to thyroid, I had to cut off about 6". As long as I dont go super short, he is ok with it.

Cutting your hair can make you feel powerful,,I say go for it. Love what you see in the mirror!

It's so funny you posted this. I've had long hair my whole life. I've been thinking about doing a chop for the first time ever a few months after surgery. Nothing drastic, just a lob (long bob), especially once I start going through the temporary Hair loss stage. If you'd asked me before if I'd ever cut it, I'd have said absolutely not! [emoji28] But for some reason, I'm kind of ready for a change. Funny how having this surgery makes you rethink a lot of things!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
