Hubsand & wife taking the leap together

Recommended Posts

My wife and I just got approved and our surgeries are scheduled for Mar 27 (her) and April 25 (me).

We're so excited!

Are there other couples out there who took the leap together? What can we expect caring for each other and such...

My wife who's 5ft3 and 206lbs (normal weight 115'ish) with PCOS recently applied to weight management but she's not fat enough, nor has enough life threatening conditions like diabetes or advanced liver disease. So she was denied. I'm working with her to get her weight down by having her diet like I am. Certainly before we have any more kids want her weight down -- kinda paranoid about gestational diabetes and other issues.

That's awesome that you can do it together and support each other! Whether with surgery or just diet alone like patienteleventybillion.

I don't get why we couldn't do it the same day then we would be going through the food stages at the same time

My hubs was 12/21 and I was 1/9. We could have easily done it at the same time (and we have 4 kids). It was hard not being on the same page food wise for the first few weeks but now we are past that hurdle. We have both lost about 70 lbs since starting our pre op diets. It's been a blessing. I just did a 10 mile fairly difficult hike on Friday. Def couldn't have done that 70 lbs ago.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
