After all of this drama, I can't even remember what this stupid thread was for!!! I think it's early on-set Alzheimer's! Yikes! I'm so confused! :P All I know is that there's no way I could keep two separate screen names straight. My cover would be blown in a nanosecond!

Well, I scrolled back to the top and discovered that we're supposed to be listing who we would love to meet in person! :focus:

There are a whole bunch of people I'd like to meet someday: all of the "steady losers" who were banded in December '06 like me: beversman, Nathalie, nikki32, sweethot143, Boo Boo Kitty, KayDotRn, VAbandster, maurdan, and anyone else my muddled mind has forgotten! I'd be curious to meet some of the folks who have expressed really strong opinions on the Rant and Rave threads. Are they really soft-spoken people who just let out their ranting and raving side in the comfort of the anonymous on-line world? Hmmm...

******Oh, I completely admit that it was stupid and below me. But I think that once in a while, we're all allowed to be a little immature. It's kind of like when you find out that the thin and beautiful head cheerleader that bullied you in high school is now fat, unattractive, and mopping floors at McDonalds while you're, well, not. Later, you may feel sorry for her and feel ashamed of your reaction, but at the time, it feels like the sweetest revenge. So yeah, now I regret what I posted, but I can't change the fact that it did get posted.*******

Have to say Laurend I howled laughing at this, so true, I often try to take the moral high ground but am tripped at the last minute by the joys of watching the karmic balance at work.

Um, that is called Schadenfreude, a German word which we have made our own. Roughly translated it means taking pleasure in someone else's misery, a feeling which we all share. It is normal to find satisfaction when those who have been tormenting us have Very Bad Things happen to them. There is no single word in English which expresses this feeling and that is why we have pinched the German word, Schadenfreude. As to how this should be pronounced, ask around; your best bet for a reliable answer will likely be those people who do speak some German. :P

Sorry to bring this thread back to topic......

I would love to meet BJean and Green for coffee. We are all about the same age and have had some similar experiences. BJean and I would have great fun arguing and Green could moderate with her sage advice....

And I would also love to meet Elena, Gadgetlady, Mrspruett, Chris NJ, and all of the other like-minded teammates who battle for "our" side! Oh, and Jack...I would sit at his feet and listen to his philosophical thoughts, anytime.

P.S. And I want to have WasABubblebutt be the nurse at my next surgery! :)

Yep, I'm thinking about dragging her along to my PS, if I have any. :) And many of the people you listed are definitely at the top of my list to meet.

I'd do it. I've done it for others during banding. I love surgery, it's very cool.

There are few folks here I would not want to meet. I like fat people, they are fun. We all relate to the same experiences and the same battles. We have great conversations that nobody else seems to "get" in the way they need to in order to understand.

HA! Are you gonna ask me to bow my head in prayer? :) :) ;)

(private joke from another thread)

Nope, you just close your eyes, bow your head, and think about all the pain "relief" you are going to be giving me!!! :biggrin1:

HA! I can do that.

Actually, I am good about that. When the patient is complaining of pain and the doc explains he already gave "X"mg of Morphine, I stand there and annoy them until they do something. Obviously, the amount of morphine wasn't enough or the patient wouldn't be doubled over and in tears.

Sometimes the magical number of mgs they order isn't enough. It actually shocks them that they didn't 'cure' the problem the first time around.

Sounds like a very fine plan to me. :bounce:

L8BloomR: That sounds like a perfect way to spend a nice morning or afternoon to me! I know we would have a great time and it would be so nice to do some serious bonding with the people we enjoy here at LBT. I have the utmost respect for the people you listed! Let's include DynamoMini! And we can track down T.O.M. and Carlene if the conversation ever lags. (How likely is that?)

Then later in the day, about happy hour time, we could bring out the gin, tonic, vodka, Scotch (for Green at least) soda(?) and lime wedges and talk about men and sex!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
