Vacation after Gastric Bypass Surgery

Recommended Posts

It has been 17 weeks since my surgery and I am down almost 70 pounds. My concern is we are going to an all-inclusive resort for 6 days. I am really still not able to stomach much food. Any advice would be great. I am packing my premade Protein Shakes and bars. Any hel would be appreciated.

I would call the resort, let them know about your diet restrictions. Ill bet they will accomadate you. Cruises are very good like that if you call ahead and i believe the resort will do the same.

Ask for small portions. Or take a pocket sized food scale and weigh out your portions at the table.

I'm planning on going to an all-inclusive resort in May. I told myself I'll look for Protein options & skip alcohol (I'll miss the alcohol). If they can cater to diet restrictions, I would let them now.

Height 5'0"
Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs.
Surgery date: 2/13/17
Goal: - 71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs).
Current weight: 194.4 lbs
My profile picture is not me. It's my "FitSpiration" body.

I would stick with Protein and veggies, but be wary of added fats and sugars in sauces and things. The buffets usually have lots of options including fresh fruits and veggies. You shouldn't have a problem finding things that fit your new healthy lifestyle. That said I'm all about the details and like the poster above, I would probably bring a small portable food scale to ensure my portions and protein grams are on point.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
