I have the worst time with red meat, not matter how much I chew it still gets stuck. Sick of chicken and fish :-(

Does anyone else have issues with red meat?

I gave it up. I tried to eat a hamburger patty post-op, and it never really chewed all the way, had a horrible texture, and was so not worth all of the chewing/effort it took to try and eat it.

Try ground turkey. You can use it as a red meat substitute in just about any dish. We had turkey chili lastnight, turkey meatloaf the week before, etc.

Even after two years, I cannot digest red meat, very well--we eat very little of it now. I am turning into a chicken or fish... Lot of Veggies and fresh fruit, yogarts...After all this time, I am just now starting to introduce whole wheat/grains back into my diet. My stomach doesn't do well with any breads, either. Did find potatoe substitutes...Sun Chokes or pureed Cauliflower. I cook a lot of stews and soups--family likes them. Still do not eat pastas of any kind. My Cholesteral went from 209 down to 121...that was a nice surprise.

Good luck

Different people will have different experiences with different foods.

Some will tolerate it, some won't.

Every time you get a fill you will have to re-learn what YOU can tolerate, and your tolerances will not be the same as anyone else's.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
