I dont think you need a dongle, I'm sure the hotel has free internet, but someone will confirm that cos I've never been lol.

Some time ago when Big Sister, Gillian and a few others were active on here we were going to have a get together, it just never happened

Hi Sussie

I was in the same position as you last week.

I was banded on 28th April by Dr Chris. I am back home now and have lost 9lbs so far, feel a little sore on the left side still, but feel on top of the world as I know this is the first step on the ladder to the rest of my life! I know I have a long way to go, but this feels so right. I am sure everything will be great for you

Regards

Julie xx

Sweetheart, wonderful news, so happy that hubby has now come to terms with it!!!!

Dont worry about having the band, a few of our daughters on here who have bands have had babies last year, and now have continued their weight loss, so all is not lost.

Just enjoy food while you can and make a beautiful little baby:biggrin:

Maybe you should be chewing the food more thoroughly hunny, so it wont stick, that wont do you any good.

 Hey hun

Yup all is fab here, we've been trekking off to Mothercare, arguing over which combo pram/car seat we like haha.

He's utterly in love with his new baby..and has turned into a soppy arse and sits there reading everything he can on whats happening and how to support me. He's asking me a million questions and going right soppy eyed when he looks or touches my belly - whch is all fat and nowt else really. But he'll put his hand under my flabby belly just above my pubic bone and say 'is that where she is??'.

We have our first scan in a week or so, and the 1st midwifes appt on Wednesday. wooo.

we're going to see his family on Saturday to tell them, Im shitting myself!

The eating thing seems to be a bit better, fewer incidents of food getting stuck now. I do seem to be eating for 25 though :(

Hi Sussie

I was fine with scrambled eggs just chew well i had my first sunday roast this week and all went done well although a fraction of what i would usually have, i've also been eating the chedders biscuits the plain ones but using philadelphia light on then with no problem too be honest hun i can eat most things but not bread that gets stuck somethin chronic and is not nice at all lol, i eat a lot of cous cous with a vegetable and chicken stew too and morrisons do the crisp bakes hun.

went for a check up at my gp today and she was so impressed with how good my scars were and commented on what a fantastic job dr chris had done and also on how thorough and comprehensive his report was she even said she wished she could recommend him lol so i told her about this site and she will be forwarding patients this way so if thats not a big tick for having the op i dont know what is .

good luck to everyone having their bands done this week thinking of u all

Julie x

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
