Hi all

english and freckles first lol right here goes as a nurse myself we are always told we are accountable for our actions and our main duty is to cause no harm, well im sorry but the fact is ur both having to have revision surgery which as far as im concerened is causing harm through negligence as such, not to mention the out of pocket expenses, so please if it is found that the port or tubing has been damaged by having the fills then keep hold of it and dont let the bupa hospitals do there own tests get it done idependently through ur solicitors, i wish u both the very best of luck with it they will try and fob u off but keep fighting.

Sussie hun looks like u,ve covered all the bases there lol but take tea bags hun just a few tho good luck hun u wont regret it for a second, let us all know how it goes i'll be thinking of u x

Slinky hi hun, im great thanks stitches r out wounds are healing nicely and im back at work so all good and i've lost 12lb so im very pleased def was the best decision i ever made, just that the old appetite is coming back a bit now and this will power think is a hard one to grasp lol but hopefully getting a fill in a couple of weeks hope that will help

Julie xx

Hello all, still kicking along here. So nice to read about everyone. Sorry for the ones having troubles.

Question please: I'm in the US. Has anyone had their plastic surgery done in Beligium? If so, can you provide helpful information?

I do appreciate it very much.

Kim

Thanx Julie, I do have a new band now, but still fighting to be compensated for the extra expense of the second band. Its actually over 12 months now since I first sought out a solicitor who would take my case.

I dont know what happened to my old port but i find it a bit fishy that MVDB didnt send that back to the manufacturer for examination, when in fact he told me he had sent the band back????

Aw Freckles so sorry to hear about your band woes, I agree too - what a bunch of pratts!! I hope your solicitor is a good one.

For me all is ok - we're 9 weeks pregnant now and my hubby calmed right down within 4 days. He is fine with it all, he was just shocked to high heaven! He's making plans for our future so we're all ok. He's even discussed names with me lol

As for the band - bloody hell, I wish I'd known I was pg, I wouldnt have bothered spunking 3.5K on a band.

I can eat anything I want including the banned stuff such as bread. I'm not losing weight after the initial 9lbs.

I'm always getting food stuck, and I have morning sickness like a whatsit

I feel like crap.

Thoroughly fucked off at the moment.

Sweetheart, wonderful news, so happy that hubby has now come to terms with it!!!!

Dont worry about having the band, a few of our daughters on here who have bands have had babies last year, and now have continued their weight loss, so all is not lost.

Just enjoy food while you can and make a beautiful little baby:biggrin:

Maybe you should be chewing the food more thoroughly hunny, so it wont stick, that wont do you any good.

Hi, getting a bit worried now, I've sent off my 500 euros and sent Freddy my flight details. I've emailed him 4 times to check he has got my deposit and flight times but have had no reply. I fly on Thursday and am really starting to wonder if it is going to happen...........Hubby thinks we have been scammed...................

lol, no you wont have been scammed hun, Freddyboy is a bit dozey when it comes to replying to mails. Not good business I admit, but he doesnt seem to read them very often. I'm sure everything will be fine for you.

Others will vouch for him, please dont worry.

I think English Rose has a phone number for him, it might be better to speak to him over the phone to put your mind at rest.

I totally agree with Freckles, you havent been scammed. Frederik is a NIGHTMARE for replying to E-mails and he had me pulling my hair out for answers this week. His phone number is 00 32 472 01 90 91. I had to phone him/e-mail him several times for answers this week before I got him to reply.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
