Do You Feel The Effect Of A Fill Immediately?
Well it didnt come in straight away. It was 14 hours after the fill. I had been to dinner and sipped Soup and plenty of fluids and was fine. Then I noticed I coudlnt swallow tea or Water or my saliva. And that I felt searing pain in my upper stomach area (probably around the actual band, inflammation etc) Then I had to spit out my saliva because it wouldnt go through. Ended up carrying a towel with me. Soaked 4 of them right through. Eventually I had pain in my shoulders, lower back around my kidneys, my joints ached, I was shaking, and sweating, and stop peeing on the 3rd day. I coudnt stand up or sit still, just so aggitated. I stopped producing saliva and got a bit delirious and felt weak. And in such awful pain throughout my entire body. I was day dreaming about taps/fawcets running water over my face, and loooking quite lovingly at bottles of squash in the cupboard, and just feeling so very very thristy. And I was vomiting a lot over/near constant those 3 days, bile I think. Eventually ended up in hospital on a drip when they tried to remove some Fluid. Then I starting drinking again and the relief was instant!! I slwept well that ngiht, felt hydrated and the pain went away straight away.

Do You Feel The Effect Of A Fill Immediately?
I just had my 3rd fill yesterday (had 0.75ml put in), now at 4.25ml. I can feel some restriction there, but I can't deal with 2 days of fluids then 2 days of soft food. Im hungry and I need some semi solids already. I was at 4ml, and for a few months that was enough then I 'maintained' for a few months, then had an overfill, so needed to be unfilled, so went down to 3.5ml and that was too loose for me. Now gone back to my 4ml plus a smidge. So 4.25ml should give me a bit of restriction. I was too scared to go anymore in case I got too tight again - thats horrific to go through.

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Had a small fill today, just 0.75ml. Met Chris Deprez, who is a lovely chap. And met some of the ladies in the clinic - all lovely - some new, some not so new. Was nice to chat. So much for 2 days of liquids though, I'm bloody starving - had to have some semi solids. Hope everyone's alright

Oh dear I so need a fill Had 1.25ml last month which turned out to be too much, ended up in hospital to have a bit taken out. So Im down to 3.5ml which is 0.5ml less than I had when I had the fill (you see?). I'm always hungry and finding it hard to not overeat. Dr Chris wants me to have another xray (I had an xray when I had the defill), though he did say in the next 6 months, but I want to go have a small fill next Thurdsday, I cant afford an xray at the same time! argh, hopefully he will let me have a small fill

Ey by eck that was rough! Ended up in hospital due to overfill! 36 hours I couldnt drink or swallow saliva, the pain in my chest and back was incredible. I was utterly dying. In the end they put me on a drip and emptied my band - what a waste of money that fill was!!!! I can drink today but still in pain, and woke up several times choking and having fluids shoot out of my nose!! So now I have less in my band than I did before the fill. ffs And I'm over a 100 down for nothing.

My First Unfill
This is mwe right now. Had a 1.25ml fill on Thursday, was fine, drank plenty had some soup to eat. Then yesterday I managed some soup. Then BAM nothing would go through. No water, no saliva, nothing. I have been vomiting for near on 18 hrs now and Im in agony. I have phone my docs, but I was a private overseas patient and its unlikely the NHS will treat me. I will have to probably just see it through or get super urgent where the NHS must treat me. Its a farce in this country.

Long-Term Effects
Im finding this also. I developed an ulcer last summer and so far the NHS doctors wont touch me because I have a band - a band that I did not have placed under the NHS. After 6 months I was given the anitbiotic treatment to eradicate H Pylori, and there has been a fair bit of relief but I am still very sore and in pain.

Crikey did you go from the UK? How come you went all the way over there? That must have been a bit pricey. Were you not able to go to one of his London (or whereever's closest for you) clinics? x

HI all Went for my fill yesterday with Dr Chris. Wow you lot are rowdy in the waiting rooom ahaha all I could hear was burping and giggling. I was chuckiling away to myself at all the happiness in there. I would have come through and had a chat but I took the husband and baby with me and there wasnt really enough room so I hid round the corner. Plus the baby was asleep when we arrived anyway. Had 1.25ml in and feeling tight as hell today, can get fluids through though, albeit very slowly..... I didnt realise the bands were 7ml though, Ive now got 5.25ml in mine, Tummy feels sore inside though. Hope everyone is well

Self Fills
Well actually yes there are. I know of people who are banded, and actually received training from their surgeons to be able to do fills on others and on themselves.
