  1. Ah bless ya thanks. Hope you fel better soon xx
  2. Well it didnt come in straight away. It was 14 hours after the fill. I had been to dinner and sipped Soup and plenty of fluids and was fine. Then I noticed I coudlnt swallow tea or Water or my saliva. And that I felt searing pain in my upper stomach area (probably around the actual band, inflammation etc) Then I had to spit out my saliva because it wouldnt go through. Ended up carrying a towel with me. Soaked 4 of them right through. Eventually I had pain in my shoulders, lower back around my kidneys, my joints ached, I was shaking, and sweating, and stop peeing on the 3rd day. I coudnt stand up or sit still, just so aggitated. I stopped producing saliva and got a bit delirious and felt weak. And in such awful pain throughout my entire body. I was day dreaming about taps/fawcets running water over my face, and loooking quite lovingly at bottles of squash in the cupboard, and just feeling so very very thristy. And I was vomiting a lot over/near constant those 3 days, bile I think. Eventually ended up in hospital on a drip when they tried to remove some Fluid. Then I starting drinking again and the relief was instant!! I slwept well that ngiht, felt hydrated and the pain went away straight away.
  3. I just had my 3rd fill yesterday (had 0.75ml put in), now at 4.25ml. I can feel some restriction there, but I can't deal with 2 days of fluids then 2 days of soft food. Im hungry and I need some semi solids already. I was at 4ml, and for a few months that was enough then I 'maintained' for a few months, then had an overfill, so needed to be unfilled, so went down to 3.5ml and that was too loose for me. Now gone back to my 4ml plus a smidge. So 4.25ml should give me a bit of restriction. I was too scared to go anymore in case I got too tight again - thats horrific to go through.
  4. This is mwe right now. Had a 1.25ml fill on Thursday, was fine, drank plenty had some soup to eat. Then yesterday I managed some soup. Then BAM nothing would go through. No water, no saliva, nothing. I have been vomiting for near on 18 hrs now and Im in agony. I have phone my docs, but I was a private overseas patient and its unlikely the NHS will treat me. I will have to probably just see it through or get super urgent where the NHS must treat me. Its a farce in this country.
  5. Im finding this also. I developed an ulcer last summer and so far the NHS doctors wont touch me because I have a band - a band that I did not have placed under the NHS. After 6 months I was given the anitbiotic treatment to eradicate H Pylori, and there has been a fair bit of relief but I am still very sore and in pain.
  6. Well actually yes there are. I know of people who are banded, and actually received training from their surgeons to be able to do fills on others and on themselves.
  7. Im seeing my doctor in 2 weeks, he's do a fill in his office. x
  8. She and I and everyone else, including you, can eat wtf they want - as long as they dont over eat (is that not the mechanical point of the band??), although you can go and live on lettuce water and fairy dust if you feel better about it. Live a little and stop being so bitchy about what someone else puts in their body.
  9. My PCOS has totally gone away, all bloods and ovary scans are clear. Only sympton I have now is the hair! I pluck and have been having electrolysis to try and get rid of it.
  10. The blood would be from a bit of tearing, especially if the crackers were sharp and a bit angular. However that lining (and the cells that line it) should be fairly robust as it needs to withstand 'trauma'. I'm a histologist so I have an understanding on cellular stuff, but I'm not a a doctor so I would just talk that over with your personal doctor/GP just for peace of mind if nothing else x But certainly I have my fair share of getting food stuck!! Ouch! Sometimes sipping warm milk helps me
  11. Nearly 2 years. And quit smoking 2 weeks before that. The non smoking has gone better than the band!
  12. Yeah I have done also, If I've swallowed wrongly and rushed something then I've had pain and had to throw up. I sometimes learn my lesson, and sometimes I dont xx
  13. I have a cheapo £20 PC11 HRM from Amazon, and its brilliant, had it about a yr and only changed the battery once. It's very good. I was going to wear it to work too just to see how any cals I burn running around the place haha
  14. I've not had any info either, but luckily I work in a hospital I can access the medical library and there's quite a good selection of obesity and bariatric surgery books. Always worth a read from the 'other side'. Looking fab there btw x
  15. Yes it is Debs. Jane ended up puncturing my tubing in 2 places. I had to go back to Belgium to have it fixed. Then got an infection there and spent a week in hospital because of it. Did Jane offer me any money back? 2 x £125 per fill Eurostar costs £195. Surgery costs £150 ish Nope. Have I heard from her since? Nope. Would I therefore recommend her? Nope. Shame, because she was very funny and I liked her. But if anything goes wrong, there is no comeback, as I have found out.
  16. Yup I use this too- 'phinners' feel free to add me x
  17. Morning all, thanks for your replies. Yes I understand I wont get medical advice here, I'm only really after other peoples experiences and best guesses. I can't get treatment on the NHS because I didnt qualify with my PCT for WLS and therefore anything to do with the band is not covered. Unless it is a life threatening emergency, they made that quite clear when they discharged me from the hospital after my infection had calmed down. My initial surgery was with Dr Chris De Bruyne. And my tube repair was with Dr Dilleman. That's where I got my infection I have had some communicaiton from my orignal surgeon but only to tell me how much it will be to see him. And there's been known from the 2nd surgeon. And the nurse who punctured my tube hasnt contacted me either. So I have 4ml in a 10 ml band, I cant get any defills because I have to go private, and they told me I had to have qan xray check at a cost of £350 before they fill take on my care. So a lot of it comes down to money and no one wanting to take responsibility for their f**k ups. If anyone wants to use a travelling nurse for fills...don't bother. I have started the 5 day pounch test today, to try and ease the pain a bit and see if I can start over with it. xx
  18. HI all Had my band fitted 18 monthsd ago in Belgium. Found out 2 weeks after that we were pregnant. All fine. 11 months later I had my first fill. It was a travelling band fill (in the UK) provider/nurse who came to my house and did it. No restriction. Had another fill 2 weeks later (£250 in total). No restriction. Booked for another fill - this time we checked the Fluid levels. Found it had leaked. Turns out fill provider had punctured right through the tubing on the first fill. She booked me in to see her own surgeon for a repair. Went back to Belgium in June. At a cost of around £400. A week later the port site got infected and I spent a week as an emergency patient in hospital. Managed to keep my port - they wanted to remove it. So now, a few months on, I am still struggling - I was very very sick with pancreatitis, now have gastritis which is really painful for the past 3-4 months. I can't see my GP about this because the NHS won't treat me, because I went abroad for my surgery. I am very very tight in the day, anything thicker than Soup gets stuck and I'm sick. Then by the evening I am slightly looser, can manage to eat some food though. Fluids are not a problem. I can't decde if I think it's slipped or not. Sometimes I can a full meal and sometimes I struggle like mad. I tryo to stay around 1200-1500 cals per day. I was working out for 2 hrs a day but my baby is really active now and I'm constantly chasing him around. And I start back to work in 3 weeks (I'm a lab scientist). It seems that I am becoming more restricted as time goes on..a reversal if what one would expect. I'm getting tighter over the weeks, not looser. So I'm £650 out of pocket (as well as 4k for the band in the first place), and what a surprise I haven't heard from the fill nurse since I was in hospital in July. The surgeon in Belgium hasn't contacted me either since picking up a surgical site infection in his side room (I wasnt taken into a proper cleanroom theare when he did my port repair). It's all a bloody sham and I am not losing weight any more. I can barely eat, and I'm constant pain and getting no where. So far I have lost 43lbs and seem to be stuck at that - bouncing around a few lbs either side for months. Yet I can barely keep any food down. I am not eating bad slider foods, I eat Soups, potatoes, veggies, plenty of fish- very little crap food. Very little junk. What the hell do I do? I can't see the GP, and I can't go private again it's just too damn expensive. I just dont know what's going on any more with this band. I need help

  20. Well yesterday I got my 1st fill, 4ml in a 10ml band. I dont know if I can feel any restriction, I dont really know what I should be feeling but so far all is ok.
  21. Hiya Tina, 3mls doesnt seem too bad to start with. I didnt get my fill last week, the lady couldnt make it but fingers crossed for this weekend! She said up to 4 ml for me so hopefully it will be 3-4ml. But I'm sure you will lose weight, it concerns me also but it'll all be ok, all we've done is delay things that's all, it should still all be fine. x
  22. I had my band in April (didnt know I was pregnant at the time) and had a c section 7 weeks ago. All has been fine. I don't see why a section would have anything to do with a band or port, they are working inside the uterus not anywhere else.
  23. I don't bellieve for one minute the post is true. I have seen this on so many forums just lately. All for attention and entertainment at our expense. And for the record if my husband neglected me and slept in the basement for 4 years I would fuck off too.
  24. Has anyone had fills done in their own home? I'm having one done of Sunday. It'll be my 1st after having surgery in April (we didnt know at the time of surgery I was pregnant, and I had my baby in Nov so am starting on fills now). There is a lady who travels around UK providing a fill service and I wondered if anyone else goes down this route?
