hiya homecare,

wendy put in 2 mls today so 5.5ml but she also took it out to show me that it is actually going in to the band.

she gets the port first time no probs very professional and helpful.

i only lost a couple o pounds since last time (which i knew),saying that i had lost approx 6-7 pounds after first fill b4 i had all these weddings, parties, holidays etc:rolleyes:

so thats me back on track for sure want to lose about 8 pounds min when i go for my next fill in 4 weeks time!!

memo to self......I MUST TRY HARDER.....please write this 100000 times for being a bad boy!

hope this fill makes some difference?plus hopefully the liquid/mushie diet for next 6 days will give the weight loss a boost too???:)

im starving noo!!

how u doing and any weight loss?

TIN:smile:

Yes TIN I only lost a few pounds as well this month but cant complain as on holiday etc. I must make appt for next month. Wendy also took out Fluid and tried to show me but I got phobia about needles so wouldnt prise my hands off my eyes. She said she could feel some resistance and reckons Im not far away from my sweet spot Ye Hay! I hope to get there maybe next time. I also will be very good this month and I must do better. Im sure Flirty who had no restriction at all used to stay on the liquid diet for a few weeks at a time. What willpower! Anyway what time is your appoointment next month. Jx:biggrin:

has anyone heard from Sammy lately? Was wondering how she's doing, pregnant and back at work, poor love.

Roseta, a bit of advice, dont eat anything for a few hours before your fill, the reason being is what happened to me.

We travelled down to Southampton took about 3 or more hours, so we ate a couple of sandwiches. (well I ate half, but I also ate a 4 finger kit kat)

I got my fill an hour later and of course cos it was so tight, it couldnt go anywhere, and I suffered for hours, cos I didnt realise. later that night I vomited it all, because I couldnt even swallow my saliva I was so full.

I hope that helps you hunny, just be very careful.

Hi Freckles dont know if you missed my post and hope you dont think Im nosey:tongue_smilie: but Im really interested in how much weight youve lost with your band being so tight. I see you have said its working for you but havent seen how much youve lost. Jx

hi all i see there is cht about restriction well let me tell you my band is doing my F*****g head in as not 10 days ago i got my fill nd got little bck out an hour later and low and behold is virutally gone, dont get me wrong if i threw in food then it would stick but i was able to eat a subway sanny yesterday so that cant be right so looks like i need another fill, i am hoping that this is not a fill pattern for me as this is wht happened when i got to restriction the last time, it went after 10 days.

we will see wht happens with a little top up.

god dam frustrating

gx

Yes Gary it is and the phrase bandster hell is very apt. Hope youll be at restriction next fill. What the hell are you eating subway sannies for lol.:) Be good Jx

hi everyone, im not doing that great at the moment 5 weeks post op not well with band at all very restricted not eaten at all, trouble with fluids, lot realy relux as well and stabbing pain where band is, got some strong tab of doc for relux not working yet hopfully kick in im well worried in case mt band slipped got to be taken out, ive got wait a week to see if tabs kick in if not they got to refer me to nhs, to check the band out, i so wanted to work plus, fills like im throwing 4000 down pan, so upset by it all cathy xxx

Ivesy im sorry to hear of your discomfort. I got banded the end of june and was finding it difficult to eat most things but was ok drinking fluids. I was in pain on my port side and was amazed at what other people were managing to eat in comparison. I kept trying every day even though it was painful and after 5 weeks things began to turn. I really think I was a slow healer and was still very swollen inside. Please dont feel alone I dont know who you are having your fills done with but Wendy from Wls is an expert in her field and maybe you could talk to her. She has a 24 hour emergency phone line it maybe worth a try. Good luck Jx:sad:

Firstly let me say, poor you Garry...maybe you shouldnt have had that little bit out after your fill, but I'm sure you've thought that yourself? Easy to comment after the event.

Next time eh?

Homecare, since July 4th I have lost 19 and a half pounds.

Its been pretty slow, but consistant.

Taking into consideration, my age and I have been really bad and not done any exercise at all, cos I havent felt like it, its good for me.

In total I am 5lbs off the 3 stone mark, but was banded in february 09, so thats slow to some guys on here.

I didnt have any restriction until June.

Had another refluxing night, kept waking up with it, puked all over the duvet too. Its not getting any better, I am so sorry that I didnt get that little bit out, I have suffered dreadfully and its my own stupid fault, well that and the money.

Cant wait for the 8th October so I can get a good nights sleep.< /p>

My Mum is coming home for the night tonight, I do hope it goes well, then maybe next week she will be able to come home for good.

I have been hospital/nursing home visiting for 7 months now and I'm bushed.

I mailed Michael telling him my port had moved upwards a good 3 inches and was that normal. He says he cant comment until he examined me...gee thanx for that duh!!

Hi Freckles

Just wanted to say that I hope everything goes well with your mum tonight.........Great news that she might be able to come home for good. Keeping my fingers crossed for you both.

Hello everyone else..............Havent posted for a while....My scales have started to move the wrong way and cant seem to understand why. I've been really good..I suppose this means its time for a fill, but I'm going for a weekend away at the end of the month so I will have to wait untill the begining of October. Oh god I hope I dont put more weight on.......

Take Care

Jackie

Hi Freckles, so pleased you can have your mum home for a little while, but try not to over do it, and make sure you get enough sleep and rest.

Thanks for the link to that book I might try to get a copy it sounds fun.

I'm going to ring WLS tomorrow I'm a bit put out out about not being sent any diet plans, or appointment dates as its well over a month now since I was last seen. I just cant stop eating, and reading that book preview just confirmed that I eat far more than the author does.

Gary, how much fill did Dr Chris put in when you had your band corrected, the fill only lasting about 10 days is the same for me as well, perhaps we need small fills every 2 weeks.

There was someone on here who had a hiccup bout when I was on holls, and yes it was me who also had hiccups for 4 days it was caused by having a slight overfill, but also stopped me sleeping at night I was so exausted, but it did go never to return. I hope yours has now eventually gone.

Thanx girlies for the well wishes about Mum, she's sat up in bed with a bag of candy mice watching TV atm.

Maggs, you can read the book online in that link I gave you, but I spose you couldnt read it in bed lol.

Darling when i saw you in Cardiff you didnt look like you needed to lose another 28lbs...you looked pretty good to me.

I hope you get your pain sorted Ivesy.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
