Weight Loss Slow Down!

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery 3 months ago and lost 50lbs by my 2 month post op checkup. My dr explained that now that I'm carrying so much less weight I'm burning less calories to do basic daily activity and that I would have to supplement that lower calorie burn with exercise. So I joined the gym 2 weeks ago and work out like a bandit 4-5 days a week and some days double workouts. And now I'm gaining weight. 3lbs to be exact. I'm so worried and frustrated. I have too much to lose. Any suggestions?

I doubt its real fat. If you're working out as hard as you say, is probably muscle. Take your measurements. Next time it goes up a few pounds or stays the same check your measurements. Muscle weighs more Than fat. Im sure those pounds will come off.

I'll take my measurements tomorrow. And do so each week to see how things are changing. I do 30-60 min of cardio interval running /walking then weight machines or total body classes or spin classes. My off days like today is a 2-4 mile hike including hills. I'm really working so hard which is why I've been quite upset and frustrated.

Everyone has "stalls". Your body is trying SO hard to keep up with everything. 50 pounds is a huge accomplishment but its also scary for your body and it doenst know what to do. Your body thinks you're starving it and so its trying to hold on to every last bit of fat that it can. Don't worry, it will start to come off again, I promise. You'll stall again in the future, just don't panic.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
