Belly button issues

Recommended Posts

kay so this is probably going to sound gross, so excuse the TMI, but my belly button is N A S T Y. and annoying lol. It's not draining or leaking. But there is somewhat of a smell. But the main issue and there is like some hard crustiness inside of it. I'm 5 days post op and I really just wanna clean it. It doesnt hurt to pull some of the stuff out but I wanna know if it's a good idea or should I just leave it alone? It doesn't look like glue or anything like on my other incisions, it's kinda black and kinda looks like earwax. It's bugging me so bad cause I just wanna clean it lol. Help.

I didn't have any incisions inside my belly button, so I am not sure how it would/could be related to your surgery. You could call your surgeon's office and ask, just to be safe.

Call your surgeons office to find out. Even if it's not an incision site it sounds like it needs to be checked for infection and cleaned. I wouldn't let it go too long because if it is infection, you don't want it to get into your blood stream and become systemic.

I had an incision right above my belly button that folded into my fat roll where my belly button is. If you had six incisions, one I'd probably right above your belly button.

Hello!

I had an incision in my belly button that I cleaned with hydrogen peroxide every day :) it healed right away. Although I'd still definitely recommend that you contact your doctor to explain to them what you're experiencing.. Just to make sure it's not infected.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
