So I have been back and forth from making the decision on if I should have the Sleeve or the

Roux Y Gastric Bypass surgery. Finally after much debating and interviewing family and friends who have had one or the other I made the choice.

My surgery is/was set for Feb 6 for the Sleeve but I am going to call them tomorrow to change my procedure. I also found that my surgeon has been a pro and has had way more experience with the RYG Bypass even having it done himself.

So I am hoping that this doesn't change my surgery date and that my insurance (that actually sucks because it rolled over Jan 1 vs August like I was told) will cover it and etc...

I am thanking all of you for being so transparent on these post and helping me make the decision I need. Someone even said "It's your body and your choice!" This was very encouraging.

So I'm going to call tomorrow to see if I can have everything changed around.

Thank you all so much again!!!

The only obstacle I can think of is that you might need to resubmit to insurance. Mine had to approve the specific surgery. Best of luck!

I switched and my insurance didn't have an issue and I didn't need to switch my date either. I had RNY on 12/5/16

Congratulations! I know so many of us struggle with which surgery to have. I originally was going to get the sleeve as well and it was recommended that I have RNY instead given my issues with reflux. I can honestly say I have never been sorry for making that decision.

Best of luck to you on your upcoming surgery!

Awesome!! How do you feel? What was your reason for changing the procedure?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
