Scared and Excited.....

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow is my big day. I'm so scared about complications but at the same time I am excited about a new life. One where I can keep up and play with my two year old son, where my autoimmune disease isn't triggered all of the time and where I don't have to where clothes that I feel help me to "hide". I don't where makeup or jewelry or get my hair done because I just want to hide from everyone, to blur in to the background. I don't want to be like that anymore. I don't want my family to have to say "I know you don't want to be in the picture". I hate that person. I'm glad to be getting the chance to show the world that I am a person and I don't have to hide anymore. But that scared feeling still lies there.

I think you should go get your hair done as soon as you feel up to it, and get a few nice articles of clothing that make you feel comfortable going for a walk or doing some light yoga or moving around. You should treat yourself because you deserve it! And the hard work of eating properly and moving will require feeling good about yourself.

I think it would be cool if someone near me would offer a "fat yoga" class. I bet they'd get a lot of customers! My daughter is studying to be a yoga instructor and I'm trying to encourage her to teach a class that caters to obese people and offers us comaraderie and moral support. She gives me private lessons tailored to my body and I love them. It's such a shame that so many exercise classes are competitive in nature.

But the point is, go out and do some nice things for yourself because you deserve it!

I relate to you to the biggest T. I'm rarely ever in pics and I absolutely hate to be in them. But, we are getting a new lease in life. Let's embrace the changes that we are making. Yours is tomorrow, I may have another few months or so.

I have been putting on the minimal makeup (blush, lipstick, and a little mascara) and it's been the biggest pickup for me. I feel pretty and it goes on so fast. Do something small to start...makeup, or even just get your hair done as the previous poster suggested. I still hide in big frumpy clothes, but even with makeup I still feel much better.

Congrats on your journey though. I pray nothing but blessings over you.

You are so right! I would love a class like that ❤️ I live way out in the country but I'm hoping I can teach myself through online classes?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
