10 PO ⬇️5lbs...slow boogie

Recommended Posts

1st of all i want to wish each and every last one of my BariatricPal bro's & sis's a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! I had my surgery in Tijuana Mexico 12/15/16, ive had absolutely no complications! I threw up last night Christmas Eve because the broth That my mother-in-law gave me off her chicken for todays dinner was too greesy bot ooooohhhh soooo delicious , it came up out my mouth &nose! HONESTLY my weight loss has been slower than ive been reading on other patients post but oh well any loss is better than any gain! I picked up 7lbs in the hospital from swelling & IV Fluids, lost that plus bout 5 or 6 more, so its slow motion but im dealing with it, im also learning better techniques & patterns to dealing with my extame hunger & head hungry

I'm in the same boat! I was sleeved in TJ, MX a day after you and not counting pre-op loss I've only lost 5 lbs since my surgery date. I am on the lower end of BMI so will take it as I won't be one of those losing 7+ lbs a week. As of yesterday I have felt like I can drink or even have a cup of creamy Soup in like 15-20 mins with no issues. From all I've read people say it takes them up to 2 hours to finish a Protein shake so I'm concerned that it all of a sudden doesn't seem I have to go super slow. How are you finding it like in terms of how long it takes to drink a cup of creamy Soup, etc? I have not even once felt like I was going to throw up. Not sure if should be grateful or concerned.

@@Gucci & @AnnaDmom3 you both are doing great! Everyone is SO different when it comes to how long it takes to drink fluids/soups after surgery. Both of your bodies are adjusting and balancing out after surgery. If you follow your bariatric team's post op plan, before you know it the pounds will start to fall off. Best wishes to both of you.

I had my surgery 6 days ago. I gained 5 pounds in the hospital. I have lost that plus 3 more so total of 8 pounds if you include the hospital gain. Struggling to get in 64 Fluid ounces per day. Sip non-stop from 8am until 10pm. My pain is mostly gone but totally sick of this liquid diet. The Protein shakes and Isopure are the hardest to get through.

My surgery was on 12/12/16 and I guess I'm one of the lucky ones as I am able to get my fluids in without a problem. I'm glad I've crossed into the puréed stage today for the next 2 weeks.

@@Gucci and @@AnaDmom3 you are doing great it's a process take your time and don't compare yourself to others. Everyone has their own journey and this is just the beginning of yours. It will be a year for me on January 12th and I continue to learn something about me, food and this new way of living everyday.

Girl, i can drink or sip @ least 5oz ( equivalent to 10-12 medium sips appx. the size of a Jim Bean whiskey glass) wit not much problem, as long as i pat my chest in the manor of a baby feeding, to get a burp up! Solids are different, i ate 4 bites if my friends chineese food yesterday & suffered greatly! But other softer food, i hv no problem with, for example, yesterday i went to a watch Party !!Go cowboys, i ate 1/3 slice pizza & brought my own non alcoholic beverage, no problem! Your body will let you know what your limits are. I think it depends on the individual, I was never one with a weak stomach b4 surgery, & I believe the people who are throwing up alot really aren't following their diet like they suspose to,because it requires you to be extremely hungry &everyone cant handle that , but I guarantee we have had the same quality of work as in tha us!!! What hospital were you in ? Who was your doc? Did you see me?

I had my surgery on 8/17/16 in Mexicali and I've lost almost 50 pounds........but I've read other posts where others have lost much more - dogmom 1204 lost 60 pounds in 2 months (very awesome). I usually just lose a little bit each week but I'm happy to lose more slowly.......as long as I lose. It's such an individual journey and we're all so different. I think you're doing really well especially since your surgery was so recent.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
