Shortness of breath

Recommended Posts

Anyone experience shortness of breath when doing regular activities? I'm one week post op and I thought it would be gone by now.

I am 10 days post op and I was the same. It's getting better though. Make sure you're getting your fluids and Protein. I felt like that helped me. I still get super tired after going to the store or something like that. But last week I was weak and couldn't hardly take a shower without having to rest!

Make sure you are hydrated. I had the same problem up to 2 days ago. I met with my surgeon for my follow up appointment and he sent me to the ER once he realized why I felt that way. He said typically I would feel tired my first week but lack of fluids will heavily cause the shortness of breath, weak feeling, etc.

I don't want to be an alarmist but you should take this seriously. I had a pulmonary embolism (not related to this surgery). I could have died. The leading cause of death from bariatric surgery is due to blood clots, which cause embolism, among other things.

Are you on blood thinners? My surgeon puts all of his patients on blood thinners for two weeks. I don't know if that is typical. (I'm on them for longer because of my history.)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
