Does anyone still get "stuck"?

Recommended Posts

I had this issue. I even had pneumonia because of the reflux and had to be unfilled for months. I never could get the restriction I previously had (honestly I was to tight but the results were amazing while it lasted). The band broke years later and no reflux since. I was planning to get sleeved but I'm hearing that because of the reflux with my band I will likely have reflux with the sleeve. Are you finding the same issue with reflux now that you've had the procedure done? Thanks.

No reflux issues at all with the sleeve. I had serious issues like tooth erosion from reflux and vomiting with the band. 6 months out and no problems. They gave me omneprozole (I think) for acid, but I didn't have to take it. My band was just too tight!

I used to throw up literally every time I ate. I would panicky if we weren't seated close enough to a bathroom at a resteraunt, because I knew I'd be in there 3 or 4 times. I hated eating with other people outside my immediate family. I'm only 21 days post op right now, but I know I had a pressure/pain feeling everyday in my chest for the last couple of years and now it's just gone. I had such severe scarring that it took 5 hours to do my revision surgery and was warned I may need the area where my band was dilated in a few months. However no pain in my chest and even though I'm just to mushy foods I haven't had that stuck feeling even once, and I used to get it with Water sometimes. Band coming out was the best choice for me!

My reflux is gone since I got the sleeve on July 10. I feel 100% better having a band out. I guess it depends on what is causing your reflux. My band was cramping up high on my esophagus also, I had a Hiatal Hernia. So all were done. Band removed, Hiatal Hernia fixed and gastric sleeve in one operation. I am doing fine.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
