Bcbs federal

Recommended Posts

I am going to be enrolled in fep blue January 1.

Did anyone have a problem with bcbs federal?

I have a year of gym membership transactions, two years of weight history, 3 month supervised diet (currently going), year of food logs, psych evaluation next week, ekg, labs, ultrasound all scheduled. Should I include anything else? Am I missing anything?

I was approved with 2016 requirements, which sounds like your list. I remember looking at the new 2017 and thinking glad I got mine this year. I can't remember what was different but do try and find it if your surgery is planned for 2017.

I am going through the process now . 1 yr food log and gym membership ? Are those required ? Everything else looks good. My Dr is requesting endoscopy / upper GI .

I am planning to get the sleeved.

Hopefully around March or April 2017

What about Short term Disability insurance / FMLA ?

Yes it says in the requirements that you need proof of failed attempts at weight loss. I heard of other people sending gym membership proof and food logs to really prove it. I'd rather send more than less.

I am going to speak to my nurse about fmla next week. Thanks for reminding me!

I will be using this insurance as well . Husband got a federal job and I am trying for Feb or sooner. I am in my 2nd month of supervised diet with the Dr's, working on the other stuff. I have only seen the 2016 requirements, where can I find the 2017 requirements? Thanks.

What type of weight history do they require? How much is what I am asking, I under stand 2 years but what I need clarified is how many in those 2 years? What If I do not have 2 years back to back?

I have the same insurance. It went really smoothly. I had the same requirements, and once they were completed the auth process took just 10 days, and no denials. Good luck!

I'm not sure how many they need but probably at least one from two years ago and one year ago and this year most likely.

Thanks they seem pretty easy to work with. Hopefully mine goes smoothly as well

I found weights in a file but they are slightly under the 35 bmi, I have 3 comorbidities that I am linking into this with my bmi of 36.6. My Dr agrees that the surgery will be beneficial and I should move forward. I nervous that the insurance won't go for it because of the other numbers.

Hi everyone

I have Fed BCBS

In 2015 my BMI was 37-38

No comorbidities 2015

2016 BMI 42 sleep apnea

Planning to have sergury in February or March 2017.

I scared I'm not going to be approved because of low BMI 2015. Help

I found they just want at least one documented weight for each of the last 2 years. Just one that shows that your bmi was high enough.with no co's or 35 with co's.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
