stall for almost a month..

Recommended Posts

i'm about 7 weeks out from surgery... i've been in a stall for about 4... is it possible that i won't loose any more weight! i know stalls happen but this is very upsetting. and discouraging..

surgery pre op diet i was 247

day of surgery 240

today 219

it did say 216 one week but the next week it jumped back up to 220 and hasn't went down.

i have regular bowel movements.

i'm just so upset and it's very hard but i know it must be impossible for me to not loose weight right? :(

you should be able to lose more weight. Four weeks is starting to get pretty long given you're still early out. Are you weighing, measuring, and logging everything you're eating?

you should lose more weight as long as you're sticking to the plan. I had a two-week stall within the first month after surgery. Actually, I know someone who had a 3.5 week stall early out - so maybe you'll be OK. Just remember to keep following your plan...

maybe because i only want to loose 50-60 more pounds it is slow for me? i am 5"8 so maybe that's why. i'm already half way to my goal. so i guess i should calm down.

If you stick to the plan you will lose more weight. My longest stall was 28 days and it was pure torture. the best thing to do is stay off the scale and follow your plan and it will work itself out.

I promise......

I stalled 6 weeks recently. It scared me because I'm 10 months out. I thought, " oh no, I can't lose anymore weight. This is it. I'm done." Then bam, dropped 10 pounds and a pant size. Then another 5 pounds. Don't give up or worry to much. Just follow your program and drink your fluids. Take a walk when you can. You will lose more weight :)

Did you take measurements before surgery? That's always a sure-fire way to see if you're still losing inches while the scale gets crazy on ya!

And go get yourself a pair of snug fitting jeans (even from Goodwill)... then start trying them on (even if you don't wear them) every week. You'll know how they fit, and in time they'll be too big!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
