I know I should probably search for this but for my clinic they schedule your surgery 2-3 weeks out after meeting with Surgeon for final visit. What was your time frame and has anyone ever wanted to hold off a little longer than what they suggested? Sorry for the silly question.

I was approved in late June. By the time I could get off work, the dr went on vacation. Then it would be time for school to start. I ended up waiting until mid September so I had time to really wrap my head around what I was going to do. Waiting was the best thing for me as I went into the pre-op diet and approached the surgery confident in my decision. I have done great through the past 6 weeks post-op time.

I was approved September 20th. The surgeon's office scheduled my surgery for November 3rd, but I called and asked if I could move it back and they were totally fine with it. November is a really busy time for me at work, and it just worked better with my schedule and my mom's schedule (she'll be looking after me for at least the first few days home from the hospital) to have it done mid-December instead.

I would think your surgeon would be ok with pushing it back as long as you need - just keep in mind there may be a time limit attached to your insurance approval, assuming you're going through insurance. I believe my approval was good for 3 months, and if I'd wanted to push the surgery back any further than that I would have needed to get approval again.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
