Weight Gain In The hospital.

Recommended Posts

Why is it that I gained weight after surgery while I was in the hospital recovering? Is it because of all the ice and the IV and lack of urinating?

I did too then by my week post op lost it. Only to swell so puffy the following week. Sw 251, 2day post op 255, week post op 242. 2 weeks 245, today 3 weeks 3days post op 239.

Dr this morning said everyone is different when your body is under stress just to keep doing the right things and the weight will come off. I was worried about the up and down when I ate way less than I ever have. My future step son is 10 a very picky Water and I eat less than him now.

They pump Water into you so that they can see better when doing the laparoscopic surgery. Twenty pounds is not unusual. It takes about a week to pee it back out.

Thank you. I was kind of upset when I found out I had gained in the hospital. Today is 7 days postop and I have lost that weight plus a little more.

I think my reaction to finding out I had gained 5lbs in the hospital was, "WHAT THE F**K?"

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
